I just got a left-hand Tavor and want to upgrade the trigger. I see that both Timney and Geissele are making triggers for this rifle. Which would you recommend and why?

That is assuming I can find either of them.

Thanks.

Timney is single stage, Geissele is two stage. Up to personal preference. They are priced similarly.

I'm waiting for the Geissele.

Thanks. I already have several rifles with Geissele triggers but have no experience with Timney. Might as well dance with the one that brung me.

It may just be me but I'm not inclined to drop 2 grand on a gun that has a trigger with the creap of a Mosin and the weight of a Mac 11.

Always the haters with nothing to say that is relevant, kind of sad for them.

Wait on the Geissele my friend, the Tavor is a cool rifle.

Thanks for input. I'm waiting on Geissele, but in the meantime I plan to shoot the snot out of the gun as-is.

I have an Alexander Arms 6.5 Grendel, among other guns, with Geissele triggers, and am pleased with them.

I'm sorry, I misread your post. When you said Timney I was thinking Tavor. I'm still meaning Geissele because I'm familiar with them.

I'm hardly a hater. In fact I'm a huge fan of the bullpup concept and was interested in the Tavor right up until the moment I shot one. Didn't realize my comment about the Tavor trigger would not be relevent in a thread about Tavor triggers . . . My guess is about 10lb, just like my M11a1. Am I far off?

Honestly, I'd love to try one of the new triggers.

Mike

I'd say the single-action trigger pull of the M11-A1 is a pretty good comparison, if that's what you're referring to.

That's a nice pistol by the way. I love mine.

I have Geissele triggers in three ARs including two SSA triggers and one DMR trigger. I also have a Jewell two-stage trigger in an AR15. I've had Timney triggers in the past but Geissele triggers are way better ... for me anyway. I got to handle and shoot a Tavor recently and was very impressed with it. It's good to see Geissele supporting the Tavor and SCAR.

I have the same opinion of the Geissele triggers. I have an SSA and an SSA-E, While the SSA is really sweet the SSA-E is an awesome trigger.

I have not noticed much difference between the semi auto and full auto trigger pull on my m11a1 when I make conjugal visits) The Tavor I fired (I could not hit a big torso sized plate at 300yd that you should not be able to miss) and another at a gun shop, both felt about like the force of my M11a1 trigger but with the notchiness and creep of a Mosin. I was not flaming, just observing. I was unhappy that I could not hit anything with the Tavor's trigger. I had my hopes up for a while when people were saying you could remove the second spring but then others came forward with reset issues.

I will revisit the issue when the Geissele comes out. Trigger is a big factor for me. Hell the fact that trigger makes such a big difference for me probably means some of my fundamentals are weak.

Mike

LOL Arizona Mike. I doubt it's your fundamentals. I read a review by some guy and he said after he ran 500 rds through it in one sitting his trigger finger was numb. :what:

I'm gonna take mine out next week and see if that happens to me.

Now I just have to see how soon I can find a Geissele.

Just to be accurate, I re-read the post about the numb finger and it was after seven mags, so more like 200 rds.

I actually have the medical condition known as "Trigger Finger" and unfortunately it is in my actual trigger finger. No heavy triggers for me . . .

What I means about fundamentals is the fact that I am a sub MOA shooter with bolt guns and was a 2.5 MO shooter or so with ARs until getting the Geissele High Speed. If lock time is making that much difference, I'm probably not that stable. I do drink a lot of coffee. :D

Mike

PS. Really did not intend to come off as a "hater" in my first reply.
