Everyone knows what that means. Something new to add to my collection. The question at hand though, is what do I add? I have my basics covered. An Ak, an AR, a FAL, a Garand, a 91/30, a M39, a mossy 500A, a Maverick 88, a W1200, a 270 110L, Saiga 308, CZ-82, a SKS, Henry .22lr, and a bolt .410 (I think it's a savage). My budget is $1300, though I can go over if I REALLY like a suggestion. Some of my ideas were:

1. PSL
2. Norinco 87 (or a genuine win 1887/1901 if can be found at a reasonable price)
3. S&W 500
4. Marlin 1895GS 45-70
5. STG 556

My main goal is something cool or unique, whether for rarity (I.E. a 16ga SxS) or it's futuristic appeal (the STG). Other suggestions are more than welcome.

Ammo, and Gold (covers the futuristic appeal pretty well :) )--not neccesarily in that order.

Gold, IMO is going down in value shortly. And as for ammo, that's a given, but a different part of my refund. I'm getting much more than $1300 back, that's simply what I have allotted for a new gun.

I thought it meant send a check to uncle. :cuss:

Our income tax withholding increased about $400 monthly this year...and not because our pay increased.

If you like buying high and selling low, get some gold.

As far as gun stuff, I am currently planning to order an AAC M42k probably around tax time.

Mcdonl, I am married. But my tax refund goes to what I want, just like her tax refund goes to what she wants (which is a SGL 41 :D)

How about a gun that isn't made anymore? Something like a Cold diamondback? Or something a little different, like a S&W 952? Just some ideas, anyway.

I would spring for the PSL and enough light ball to feed it for eons. Of course it wouldn't hurt to start a trust and get a suppressor for my Walther.

I'd certainly be up for something that is no longer produced, again something unique or interesting is what I have in mind.

I would love to get a Mosin-Nagant M38, or a Dragunov or PSL clone. If anyone wants to offload one of those for a fair price I'm all ears, and PM's :D

The tax refund will just be gobbled up by the Feds to pay back taxes----the good news is those back taxes will be paid in full by the end of this year.

I'll be stocking up on more ammo. And I'll do it quickly as to not be tempted to buy the Bond Arms Snake Slayer that keeps whispering to me every time I walk past it at the local shop. (and every other place I see one) I REALLY want that gun! But buying it would demonstrate a complete loss of control and any claim I would have as far as logic is concerned. It sure is nice though.......

gunsbeerfreedom... I see that you are a long gun man... what about one of those revolver carbines in .44? I think Uberti Cattleman or something. Those are unique and they look fun as heck!!

It's reloading season for me. :) Winter time is a great time for me to get about 4000-5000 rounds loaded for the upcoming prairie dog season out west. I'll be placing a large order as soon as Ifigure my refund.

PETA : Please don't be angry with me....... The ranchers/cattlemen love me.

Mcdonl, I thought about it, but if I have a revolving rifle, I want it to be a 45-70 (I have a design actually but need to build it). 44 mag out of a rifle just doesn't seem too appealing to me. Not that I don't have that in mind though. Anywhere one might be available?

what little I get back is going to go towards paying off my "from me, to me" Christmas presents:uhoh:

PETA is angry at everyone...I am will be paying off the credit card debt of my December purchases

Don't make too much $$$ or you'll get a tax liability. Both spouses DON'T need to work (it just increases tax liability). If you and/or spouse make a lot of $$$ it's just an enticement for materialism purchases like furniture, instead of "protect the 2nd amendment" purchases like firearms. There truly is no need for a gigantic TV or a new living room group, but there IS a need (even among most here) to purchase another AK/AR or hi cap handgun. If you don't have enough "assault weapons" for everyone in the house (as well as AR parts kits for TEOTWAWKI), then you're not prepared.

Since several posters have mentioned buying gold, I cannot advocate against that strongly enough. If you want to pour $$ down a drain, for some vastly overpriced thing that is NON SPENDABLE, then fine, but buying silver is much smarter (it's cheaper and it's SPENDABLE when the sh the fan).

Hiya..

well, so far... you have gotten responses that say take training, buy ammo or buy a random gun that isn't even on your list. So, since this is a random sampling of the interweb, I will suggest you buy gravel. Yep, go out and buy a truckload of gravel.

You see, when you ask the interweb "what gun should I buy?", you may as well take your Big Book of guns, open it randomly and poke your finger at a gun and buy that one. Saves a ton of time.

So, after taking this random sampling, what do you have?

Now, since I want to play as well. I am going to suggest a Howdah Pistol... Why? because, that is what I think you should get...

If you narrow it down to a few that you like, then ask the merits of those guns, you might have something. but asking the interweb a broad question like this will just get you 100 different answers.

In your gut, there is something that you have always wanted.... something that just trips your trigger... something you have always wanted....

What is it? When you answer that... go buy it

Or send me the money and I'll go buy what I want...
