I started a new business this year so I barely got any of my tax money back (atleast I didn't have to pay any more). I'm only going to get like 400-500 back, So I'm just going to split it with my wife and piss it away.
What better way to blow a couple hundred bucks than on a new surplus gun. Here are 2 I'm considering from Classic Arms.

Yes they are Hard Chromed. The CZ-52 is $200 and the Nagant M44 is $150

Pros and cons? Anyone got the Hard Chrome version of either?

I have a cz and 2 mosin nagants. Love em, great guns. You can frequently find the mosins on sale at Big 5 for about $90. You can get a cz 52 from aim surplus for about $140 last time I checked. They will require some cleaning up as they will be full of cosmo but you will be able to get both for about $250 plus tax/transfer fees. You can order ammo for both from aimsurplus, cheaperthandirt, sportsmansguide and many other places. Both are well made, cheap to shoot and lots of fun. But if you have your heart set on chrome those prices are pretty good.

I hope that your business will take off and you won't ever receive a refund again. ;)

If not, then get your withholding adjusted so that you aren't giving Uncle Sam an interest free loan each year.

I am a firm believer in the fact that if we did away with withholding altogether, and if taxpayers had to feel the pain each April 15th, that we would have a tax revolt so fast it would make the IRS nothing more than a bad memory. :cuss:

While I completely agree with Sistema1927 . . . . I also find myself looking for a little use for a (rare) refund I'm getting back. I've decided to reward myself with a Taurus PT145 PRO . . . .should be here in about 7 days . .$367 OTD. :)

Have a good one,
Dave

A-Frikin-men brother. Ask some of your friends how much they had to pay, and most will say, "nothing, I got a refund". You still got robbed..you just got robbed in excess.

I would have had to pay this year, but I still work a 40 hour job in addition to my 30 hour business, and My wife works full time. If I hadn't had a bunch of high-dollar equipment purchases and both of us claiming 0 dependants, I would have been mailing them a check.

No new gun here. Just .50bmg bullets, brass, powder, primers, and a new Denver Inst. scale. That should kill the tax return. lol Oh yeah did I mention I have a New NF scope on the way? ahahahha I can't wait!

Edit: most of this isn't from taxes. I get hosed however you look at it ( poor collage student) I'm just spending some "extra" money. I don't drink, smoke ect.

Hope you all get bigger returns then I do!

Well, gents... I have you beat, unfortunately. I'm getting roughly $2,500 back. (In florida, college students can get their full tuition back for the first two years) Hopefully, my GI Bill for this month will be coming in at the same time. However, I'm giving $1,000 to my fiancee, saving $1,000, and blowing $500. I'm thinking of grabbing a .357!

ha, i'm in a similar boat to the majority. i wont get much back and it'll probly end up buying me FOOD. college sucks.

i'll have to eat less so i can buy more toys.

Buy the CZ, it is hard to go wrong... good guns... as fopr the MN... again, the accuracy is surprising, and hard to go wrong therte too...

for my refund, the local gunstore has a FACTORY sporter Mauser, in .308 Win... european stock (of course) and flip-lever floorplate, lever type tilt-off mount (no scope), AS BUILT in Germany, WITH origianl paperwork... asking price $700.00... might be bought for $600.00... it really has me thinking...

Put 75 cents in a jar every day and you could do the same. You get the same interest rate on it as the money the irs refunds.
