I live in central Arkansas and went to a local indoor gun range for the first time today. Usually I just drive out to my moms or my dads and shoot out there. But its too close to 100* to be outside and I've made it my goal to find a local gun business to support. First thing I noticed was that they had safety signs posted before you got to the door. Big plus in my book. Before you walked in you knew what was expected as far as firearm handling. 2nd was that A/C is awesome. The front desk guy was very helpful and explained the process well enough that the few questions I had were answered before I asked. I could see a CCW class was in process so I listened in while he was checking guns. It was a very detailed class that was going over the pros and cons of revolvers vs semi at that point. After gettig a few targets on the honor system we went inside the range which was pretty well insulated considering it was a metal building. My father in law hung a target while I set our cases down at the table at the back. An electric retrieval system helped us scoot the target past the minimum of 14' and back to ~15' and we shot away. 2 boxes later we changed from the 45 and Cz-82 to the P22 and shot some more. We were there for 2 hours and bought some water and the 2 targets and came out paying $22.
I think I found a new place to hangout.
