Has anyone bought one of these? I'm serously considering it. If so have you also purchase any Centerfire barrels and shot as well?

Thanks,

T/C Pro Hunter .50 X 209

I bought a T/C Pro Hunter .50 X 209 rifle yesterday. I cleaned it and took it to the range today.

Using iron sights, at 30 yards off the bench, I kept all shots touching. I was using 100 grains of powder and a 250 grain power belt. Then, when I arrived home, I cleaned it and mounted a red dot sight on it. Tomorrow, I'll return to the range to try it at 100 yards and to zero it for that range. Allegedly, when sighted 3" high at 100 yards, it is dead-on at 200 yards. So T/C's DVD says.

In the future, I plan to purchase some additional barrels. I like the 7mm Rem Mag and the 300 Win Mag, possibly the 375 H&H Mag. I'll post an accuracy update about the groups at 100 yards. By the way, the recoil was very mild.

encore accuracy

I bought my encore this summer and its as accurate as my o3a3 springfield. I wouldnt hesitate to take a 250 yard shot any day of the week! Power belts didn't shoot to well from my barrel but i havent hade any problems with sabots of any brand (less than 1" groups @ 100 yds). I want to order a varmint barrel in the spring possably a 22-250. your going to love your pro hunter!

Correction Re: Bullet

Sorry all, the bullets were T/C Shock Wave Super Glide Sabots, 250 grains. The power belts are still in the package. I'll try those later.

Accuracy at 100 yards was sub-MOA. Unbelievable.

Now I'm trying to decide which barrel for varmint. I wish T/C made a .32 or .36 cal. BP barrel for small game. The .45 caliber simply seems over-kill on a squirrel.

36cal bp barrel

hey doc, I think you can order a barrel from Thompson but it would be a special order. it would probably cost a bit but i have to agree a 45 is way to big for small game.

doc: squerrel what squrell you would have a little puff of blood and fur lol.

i guess i have a mean sence of humor but shooting at a squerrel just to see a puff of blood and fur is kind of amuzing to me.

TC encore

If you are looking for a great place to purchase TC encore barrels try eabco.com or outdoorguides.com. outdoor guides factory ports your barrels for less than 1/2 the price of an muzzle brake.
