I was just wondering what the thread size on the Tec-22 is on the pre-ban guns? I am getting one soon and I want to start looking for a flash hider or a muzzle break of some kind.
All I know is a standard nut form a hardware shop will thread on to it. I think these are ½ by 20tpi. Just go into NAPA auto parts and tell them you’re going to bring in a gun. Then bring in the gun find the correct nut for it or just ask them for the thread pitch.
If this doesn’t work for you I can look it up. Just give me a day or two.
Very true 1/2 X 28 is standard for most threaded barrels in .22lr, .223, and even in 9mm. However the Scorpion has a different thread pitch. I have no idea what the reasoning was on that.
If you need a custom flash suppressor or suppressor end caps Mark McWillis form TROS can make them up for you. He’s making me up custom end caps right now so that I can mount my Gemtech Trinity onto the metric threads of my CZ-52.
Thanks guys. 1/2" x 20 sounds about right after looking at the threads. It is not 1/2" x 28 since I checked that with my AR-15 stuff and it is not as fine.
I am not going to bring the gun in to the hardware store but I am going to bring the thread protector and thread a bolt into just to make sure.
I am glad it is a standard thread, now I can make anything I want! Sweet!
Pitch is right - I had one, and it jammed on almost any magazine I put it it. Not one would feed reliably, except the Ruger 10/22 factory 10 rounder. Inaccurate as a thrown brick, but boy did it look cool!
Yeah, I tried to shoot mine and it is a single shot I guess. :banghead: When will I learn that Intratec only made crap?
I am ordering a new hammer just to see if that works but I don't have high hopes for it. The good news is, it is such a simple gun that I should be able to make it work if I can narrow down the problems one by one. If it has broken parts, I can buy them or make them. If I can't get it working, I would be a little surprised just because it is so simple. I don't have much cash in it so I don't mind messing around with it a little.
