Ted Nugent?

I love Uncle Ted! He's a patriot and is passionate about what he does. It takes a lot of courage to do what he does while in the industry he's in.

Tim Wells is a recent discovery of mine and I really enjoy his show. Watched a couple of recorded episodes yesterday.

What show does Tim Wells have?

He is the last person who should be representing hunters and hunting to the world. He will never convince a single person that hunting and guns are useful and safe tools. Not to mention needed in today's world as it stands today.
Actually not true. Nugent regularly takes libs out shooting, and they are often converts the same day, and often in minutes. And he's not some mealy mouthed apologist when he gets interviewed on news shows when it comes to the 2nd, and hunting/shooting sports.

Is this guy on crack!!!??

I have never watched the guys hunting show but he just called himself a trophy hunting, backstrap assassin and rambling a bunch of other incoherent stuff. lol. I have to say ill never watch it again. Boiler room, backstrap assassin, boiler room penetrator gold tip. I love to hunt but I give the utmost respect to the animal and don't agree with all that b.s. this idiot was rambling.

Then you would have loved TK & MIKE !

No.

After listening to interviews he has given, I suspect he is mentally ill.

I suspect that if I were to actually have a chance to interview him in a clinical setting, there might be some psychopathology with him. But, an even-handed clinical interview is essential. Only a fool (think Senator Frist in the Terri Schivo affair) has the temerity to diagnose the mental state of a patient without first examining them in person.

Are these the same kind of "converts" that recanted their newfound belief when led into the amphitheater in present-day Lyon, France, in 177 AD?

I quit watching any thing Nugent when I watched him shoot a nice tom one day and go back to the same blind the next day and do the same thing. I can almost guarantee that he shot them both over bait. Why would turkeys come in running to a spot two days in a row and start pecking the ground if it was not because they were after bait on the ground.

I got the Outdoor channel off one of the old big dishes when it was called the gold prospectors channel. I no longer pay for it or any other of the other hunting channels as I feel that so many of them do not represent the truth of hunting and a lot are just phony set ups.

People and entertainment is a matter of taste, but I actually like what I've seen from Ted.

He's a passionate, outspoken supporter of the second amendment.

He's an ambassador for hunting.

He shows himself and his friends and family safely using firearms for legitimate reasons (defense, hunting, fun).

I've never seen him disrespect any animal on the shows I've seen. In fact, just the opposite. Just because he uses different terms than you, or gets more excited than you, doesn't mean he's disrespecting the animal.

I love how he refers to every hunt as "meat, sport, trophy, fun". He does a good job of trying to squash the negative out of the term "Trophy hunting". The anti-hunters love that phrase. They love that when they use it, they are implying that the hunt is only for the trophy...the antlers, the taxidermy, etc. The anti hunters try to create the idea that "Trophy hunting" wastes meat, etc. Ted seems to be on a mission to get the word out that every hunt can be a trophy hunt, even if the trophy is a small animal. I killed a tiny 2x3 mule deer this past year (only deer I had a good chance at) and it was a trophy for me. It was fun, it was sport, my family is still eating it, and it was a trophy for me and the skull will be displayed.

My buddies and laugh at how he rambles on thanking his sponsors but that's almost part of his shtick now and he even laughs a bit at himself when he's doing it.

I say lighten up and be happy that someone with a public voice is stepping up for our rights as gun owners and hunters.
Dentite, you've said exactly what I've heard and seen from Ted. For those that want to get a glimpse of the "real Ted"go to YouTube and enter Ted Nugent and talk show host. He really puts anti-gun people in their place! He's really passionate about the 2nd Admendment and is a front line person that we really need on our side.

I watch them more for the wildlife. I like seeing pictures when guys hunt or successful so that's the main reason. I also like their Wednesday night at the range but even that is getting a little bit "buy this" genre.

Ted is a loud strong unapologetic 2A supporting patriot.
I could care less if he or anyone else shoots a doe over a salt block or exceeds his bag limit of rabbits.
In the cesspool of celebrity perverts, drug addicts and liberal morons, Uncle Ted is a refreshing change of pace.

I HATE that 30 minute advertisement they call a hunting show on Pursuit channel called "Hunting with Hecks". I just turn that off. Lately, Pursuit has an infomercial on Bond Arms they run constantly. But, there are some shows I like. I like the "Sporting Dog Adventures" show, sit and watch it with my Lab. :D I like most of the waterfowl stuff, especially the DU show. My wife hates that woman's voice, Ashley Beeman. It's a long running joke between us. :D She sounds like Scott Malkinson on South Park....."My name is Scott Malkinson and I have Diabetis." ROFL

Oh, if you don't know Scott Malkinson and are curious. :D

By his own admission, he is. It's what kept him outta the draft after his other deferments lapsed. Altho he now claims he lied about the lies and actions he gave to get his 4F, he did give several interviews, at the time, telling in great detail, how he filled his pants and took Meth before he went before the draft board, to get said deferment. Of course, now he is pro-constitution and pro vet. Very similar to Jane Fonda. He also tell us about being ethical hunters and treating our quarry with respect, all while pleading guilty(or no contest)multiple times, to multiple counts of wildlife violations. As I said before, Poachers very rarely only poach once. Most continue until they are caught, and more likely than not, even after being caught. This is the type of guy folks are slappin' on the back and claiming we need more like him? Good grief.

Can not lump them all into one category. But having listened to some recovered libs interviewed on various media, I'd say many of them are more like ex smokers.

If you really think he has a problem, why don't you contact him, tell him you're an irredeemable lib and challenge him to try and save you. He might take you up on it, and you'll have a chance to "expose him" as a nut.

Moderators, I'd like to see this moved to General Gun Discussions to see what others think!

Is all this really contributing to hunting as hunting?

What we don't know and can't know about Nugent is whether he is turning more people into favoring 2A and hunting or is turning more of them off. So, we can express our personal opinions and that's pretty much the end of it.

Well, the NRA has at least started to get a backbone while he has been there.

As to the population at large it is not really a fair question, since he has never claimed to be a deciding single leader in the fight. But he is a fighter, and that is what has been pathetically lacking for decades.

Perfect description of "Nuge". I feel the same about him as I do Jane Fonda.

Headline: "Washed Up Rock Star Becomes a Hunting Star." It seems like a way to market one's self to a group that mainly listens to country music and they have deep pockets. Sound familiar?
How about: Washed Up Tennis Pro Becomes The Buckmaster." Jackie Bushman turned from a so-so tennis pro to marketing himself as THE authority on deer hunting.

Two guys using the same tactic to increase their bank account.

Lots of people love to hate Ted. I like a few of his songs , but one must remember he is a person who really seems to like
playing the extreme . It keeps people talking about him. They don`t call him the Motor-city madman for nothing. If one goes to Youtube
and watches Cat scratch fever and Strangle hold live you will see his personality . Then watch the old David Letterman interview.
He is a showman in just about everything he does. I`d like to have him for a neighbor .

Just a slight rant over hunting shows and showing respect to the game animals life we took. :)

Your my new hero!! Couldn't have said it better myself.

Basically comes down to what a person's idea of hunting and the ethics involved are. Can one excuse his blatant lack of respect for game laws and ethical hunting, just because he's "Uncle Ted" and he tells us what we want to hear?

I, personally do not want any more hunters in the woods, with Ted's ethics....period. He is not promoting the sport, but exploiting it. That is fact, and not anyone's opinion, based on the amount of hunting violations he has pleaded guilty/no contest to.

That’s as American as it gets.

I’m not shocked that Ted is viewed as a polarizing personality but I am a bit shocked that TV hunting shows are granted any legitimacy at all.

1/2hr sales pitch shot on “ranches”( canned hunting) hosted by folks heavy with the Southern drawl, entertainment at best.
