If those had been my kids. After I got over that I woulda been damn proud of them, but that really does push the boundary between heroism and stupidity.

They were lucky it was the unarmed suspect they caught up with, otherwise the headline could have been "Two Brothers Were Slain Today...".

Although it might have been a dumb thing to do in terms of their pwn personal safety risk, here is what I think of:

1. The kids were alert and acted quickly.
2. The kids were raised with enough respect for common man to help someone truly in distress.

The bad guys were already running away when the good guys stopped to help. It doesn't say that they knew if the BGs were armed or not.

Obviously the story is incomplet, but I don't know if they did the right thing. If the BGs were no longer a threat to the lady I'm not sure they should have taken the chance in jumping the guy without knowing that the BGs didn't have a gun (which you can never know).

Brave young men, and I am proud for their parents for raising such fine young lads. That being said, it was a dumb thing to d, but I was 19 and invincible once also. Good on em.
