some kid opened fire on the school, he was suspended because of a fight and wasn't even supposed to be there. apparently, these people are finding that the best way to express their feelings are by taking other's lives, and then their own. my condolences to the families involved in this, but somethings going to have to change, because this is starting to become way too common

Which is why students in our schools need to be MORE helpless, right? So that the kid... can't... get... any...
Oh God, the logic center of my brain just collapsed under that thought.

Magic metal detectors

Reading the accounts of this tragedy it strikes me how impressed these folks are with metal detectors. They really don't seem to be able to understand HOW this kid got his gun in PAST the metal detectors!

I bet they believe in "airport security" too!

Unless there are metal detectors in a big bubble over the entire school, it's highly possible. Especially if he's going to kill people (meaning he won't get caught, 'cause he's kinda already in it deep). Breaking school rules isn't exactly Mission Impossible.
