I know nothing about this sport, but it sure sounds like fun. All I've heard is that, well... it's like a "real" version of Rainbow 6/CounterStrike, done with 3 guns. At one point, one of the guns must be ditched. It sounds to me like it's the only major outlet for people obsessed with "tactical" gear and maneuvers. Which I just might be. :D

What sort of guns are used? What are some good websites? And... could WW2 milsurp equipment be used (seriously)? :)

One rifle, one pistol and one shotgun. Engage assorted targets at assorted ranges using the proper firearm in a very controlled environment. Safety first in all shooting.
"...could WW2 milsurp equipment be used..." Sure, depending on the match rules, but you're playing with guys using gussied up AR's, comped pistols and ported shotguns. You'll have just as much fun with whatever you have though.

The "Rainbow 6" type matches would not likely allow "comped handguns and ported pistols". If they are allowed, there is often a separate class so the tactical crowd does not directly compete with "open" guns.

Generally, there is great latitude in what you shoot. In this context, WW2 milsurp would be an M1 (Garand or carbine), 1911, and a pump shotgun. Not especially competitive, but fun to start.

Check the links in the previous message. Good stuff.
