what is the value of a .45 HK USP Compact "AG"?

I have never owned a HK and I have been recently offered a .45 HK USP "AG". What does the AG stand for and what is the difference (if any) from other .45 USP Compacts. I see other designations such as USPc ect. Can anyone explain these differences?

Alkso what is the magazine capcities on these. The gun in question comes with 8 round mags? But it looks like they could hold a lot more. Are these mags expensive?

The USP .45 Compact is a great gun. HKs are top quality, durable, reliable guns. "AG" is the date code. AG translates to 2006 manufacture. The "C" stands for Compact.

The mags hold 8 rounds and are somewhat expensive.

New USP .45 Compacts range in price from around $750 and up.

Thanks for all that.

So a USPc Compact is the same as a USP Compact. Just some people list them differently?

This is also a "varient 1" (whatever that means)? So I assume there is a varient 2, 3 ect. What is the difference?

In what range do used ones sell for and are they all equal as far a date codes and varients? In other words are some worth more than others. Are there some avliable that are imports and are they worth more?

variants for USP pistol is the action/safety setup.
e.g.
SA, SA/DA, or DAO?
decocker, left-side, right side, etc.

Variant 1 is SA/DA.

USP can pretty easily set it up for the different variations.

Yes, variant 1 is DA/SA with a frame mounted safety lever on the left side of the pistol. The variant can be changed if desired. You should do some research here:

Specific USP compact info is here:

http://hkpro.com/uspc.htm

At the bottom of the page, it explains the variants in detail.

For current prices in the used market, search the following websites for current listings:

Also check the buy/sell forum here and on other gun forums (including HKPRO.com).

USPs are not really collector guns, so value is usually determined by appearance and mechanical wear. As far as I know, all are imports Made in Germany. Used HKs in good condition hold their value pretty well. The HKPro site and forums should answer all your questions.

The "c" in USPc stands for Compact. It's redundant to add "Compact" after the term. Saying "USPc Compact" is sort of like saying "ATM machine" (i.e. "Automated Teller Machine machine")

The H&K usp compact is not a small pistol. I just traded one for a Colt Defender. The H&K was a tank.Expensive and worth the money. I just liked the 1911 frame better.

Thread necromancy:

I just (finally) purchased my coveted HK USPc .45. Had to do some trades and sells, but I didn't have to use cash, so I am happy.

I have wanted this gun for a while. I like the slightly shorter barrel and grip length, I don't need to deep conceal it, my murse or car console is as far as it needs to go. Or, it will be under a jacket.

I am pretty excited. I had to order it at my sporting goods store, and I couldn't tell if the gun I ordered had the safety and decocker. Is that standard unless otherwise specified? I am presuming it is, but I guess I'll see friday. the decocker and safety are what sold me on the gun, so hopefully we don't have to send it back for an exchange.

I'll post my thoughts on friday, I hope it's as good as I've (literally) dreamed.
