Hi,
I have a question about the usp 45 compact- I was thinking of purchasing one, but its barrel length is only 3.85 inches, although the HK dealer mentioned that it had polygonal rifling which supposedly increases the velocity.

Please tell me your results with 230 grain, 200, 185 grain ammo in your personal HK usp 45 compact.

Thanks alot

I don't believe that I ever ran any rounds through my chronograph when I had the USP compact .45ACP.

But I'd say that your velocity would be approximately what you would get through a conventional 4.5" barreled gun.

Go for something like the Winchester Ranger 230gr standard pressure or +P pressure round and don't look back, IMHO.

Using Golden Saber 230 Gr. ammo, my calculation yielded 339 ft/lbs at the muzzle, after considering the shorter barrel compared to the 5" factory test barrel getting 391 ft/lbs.

My pistol is also HK USP Compact .45.

Only have Chrono'ed one load through mine.
Winchester Ranger 230gr. +P. Went out of a 5" 1911at 970 f.p.s.. The HK was right at 900 f.p.s..
