Terrorists Have Hacked a Firearms Discussion Site

Http://leverguns.sixgunner.com has been hacked by Islamic terrorist sympathizers. I've made a screenshot of the hacked page here. This is no way to win over people to your cause. This is a non-political web site that discusses lever action firearms and hunting. The video on the site includes a terrorist blowing himself up, along with US troops.

Someone needs to warn the admins, just incase they try it here.

I don't believe they are terrorist sympathizer but people who are against the Iraq war. Maybe in your mind the equates to a terrorist sympathizer but in reality they are showing the growing human cost of the war. Does anyone know Turkish. I would like to know what the women is saying.

These hackers rarely target sites due to their topics.

If you do a search for the "HAcked by EJDER", you'll find he's hit lots of sites.

Typically what these guys do is they find a vunerability in a script used to power the site. This could be a CMS like phpNUKE or a forum system like phpBB or a photogallery thing like coppermine. Then they google for "Powered by Hackable Script" and then they try the exploit in it. And the just go down google trying to hack all they can.

Not all Muslims are terrorists and many are peaceful. The group that supports peace is not theoretical. Why not google the key words: Muslims against terrorism, and see what comes up?

Of course, if you have a satelite dish, you get such stuff piped ot your tv on a daily basis. Go to one of the international news channels... they love to show videos of soldiers being shot by snipers, helicopters being taken down by RPGs and civilians being blown to pieces by suicide bombers...

As for the site.... out of curiosity, what were they running?

This site is pretty secure. The software is slightly out of date (by I think 1 security update), but I don't remember hearing about 3.6.3 having a major vulnerability.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the server as it's running an older Linux kernel and an older Apache build.

So is this fact or just some generalization by you? Is it 1 channel out of 100 or 99 out of 100 news channels. Why do you think they love to show such videos? Is it a hatred for the USA or is it because it increases ratings?

Just to paraphrase what a lot of people seem to think:

Why not do a little research and see if Muslim groups have spoken out against terror? I hear gunowners talking about how the media is biased against gunowners, can we not assume it is biased against other groups? Like Muslims perhaps? Hmm...
