Texan reloader?

Anyone ever hear of a Texan progressive reloader? I bought one today, may get it tomorrow. Sounded sorta bare-bones, etc., but hey, the price was right.

I have a set of Texan .308 reloading dies that are still in the cardboard box. I got them in a box of stuff I bought from a friend who said they were his grandfathers. I have googled it and can't find anything about it either. The Dies seem to be very well made.

The Texan brand of loaders was discontinued/sold many years back IIRC. Hopefully your press won't need anything other than standard dies to begin loading ammo.

The Texan Shotshell reloaders will share parts with an MEC.

Texan Reloaders went out of business years ago. Manuals for their products, and spare parts that are not standardized, will cost you collector prices.

There will be zero customer support for these. Any part or piece of information you want for these will be pricey, hard to come by, and already old.

Were I either Bogie or Larryw, I'd put my Texan on e-bay tomorrow, as a sporting goods collectible. I'd take whatever I could get for it. The proceeds would partially finance a MEC for shotshells, an RCBS single-stange press, or their choice of a progressive, made currently, and for which parts, information, and customer support are currently available.

OK, I hijacked, the thread, I hang my head in shame...

Ane we got a good answer, not the one I wanted because it makes it hard to justify a new O/U to the CFO (she'd understand how it would be a shame to have a perfecly good press go to waste), but a good anwer none the less.

Anyone want to trade a classic, collectable and extremely rare Texan LT shotshell press for a MEC 8567 410 conversion kit?

Back on track, I have two sets of Texan rifle dies and they are standard 7/8 x 14. You press will take any standard die.

Instead of buying bushings, just go buy a universal charge bar and replace the current bar. No more bushings as it is adjustable and fits most reloaders. Thats what I did with my Texan reloader.
