Realistic BB- Guns

Our local PD has had problems with kids running around with the BB pistols, that, from a distance or in low light look very real. Several gas station robberies were commited by two guys with BB pistols that looked a lot like Berettas. In another incident a 16 year old kid was almost shot when he tried to rob an uncover police officer during a drug deal with a BB gun that looked like a revolver. Luckly, even in the low light, the officer relized it was fake and did not fire. Just my $0.02...

The kid probably used a BB gun because it was easier to get his hands on. Unfortunately, after the kid gets his slap on the hand - he will probably be back in business. Those LEOs may be seeing him again - and next time he may bring a real gun.

Sounds like a perfect fairy tale ending to me. Good guys are ok, bad guy is dead (only one shot nonetheless), and we don't have to waste anymore tax dollars on him to boot. I wish the media would show more of this rather than focusing on all of the nut jobs that make us look bad.

To the libs this does make us look bad. The "poor man" was not given a chance to surrender and beg forgivness for his "mistake".

Texas, it's a state of mind!

No. Just the best outcome given the circumstances.

Fairy Tale ending would be:

1) Bad guy doesn't point a gun at the neighbor.

2) Bad guy realizes he made a bad mistake.

3) Bad guy spends the rest of him life making amends, becoming a productive citizen, and maybe stops a few others from heading down his initial path.

It’s a crying shame and I don’t share other’s glee. I'm happy that the woman is OK. And I’m proud that the neighbor was man enough to come to the rescue, but it’s a horrible thing that someone had to die.

I agree, and it's a sad statement that we've come to the point of cheering the good guys on after they've prevailed in these types of situations...but after the way the crime rate has soared recently...with good people who are law-abiding and peaceably disposed falling victim to the cretins who have no regard for anyone or anything other than their own desires and/or agenda...it's probably to be expected.

(How was THAT for a run-on!) :D

It's a little like expecting the Jews who were at Dachau or Auschwitz to feel remorse over Hitler's death. I hate that it became necessary to kill a man, too...but he pretty much did it to himself.

As was said in another thread, it would have been better if he had never made the decision to take from someone else that which was not his. Had he not arrived with the BB gun and attempted to take the property of hard working people, he would not have died. Yet, no matter how it is sliced, this person is responsible for his own death, and the nightmares the shooter will endure for who knows how long?

In the end, bad guy created the entire scenario and paid for it with his life. His fault.
