The story of the early Texas Rangers is coming Memorial Day. When first I heard it was going to be filmed, I had hopes it was to be in Texas, but alas it was filmed in México. Looks interesting though, so keep your eyeballs peeled for anachronistic weaponry. If they used the same history expert used for "The Alamo", they should be ok.

Well, got to get back to "Sons of Liberty". Oops just saw a caplock, and why did the British troops attacking Bunker Hill/Breeds Hill wear black bandanas over their faces?

Cool! Should be entertaining, I'll be on the lookout for anachronisms as well.

But.. filmed in MEXICO??

WHY?? At least some of it should have been filmed in Texas...

Not to mention getting many things wrong about the basic facts of what happened. Too much artistic license going on, IMO.

I agree there. Amateurish at best. I can't watch it. I'm hoping that whoever directs this Texas Rising just please make a good movie and not another one better suited for a MTV audience. :cuss:

and we just know british general gage led a charge up breeds hill, what BS is that. eastbank.

Why!!!!!! When the actual events themselves are more than interesting enough!!!!

We did a whole lots of running away from the British army and half the country at that time didn't think this was a very good idea to take on the most powerful country in the world with a history of brutality against those that opposed it.

Only a few, a very few men actually stood up to the British Army and gave as good as it got, Haslet's Delaware's and Smallwood's Marylander's and the Philadelphia Light Horse come to mind.

I'm just hoping that Texas Rising doesn't have the same directors and producers. Hopefully The History channel cans their butts!!!

That's nothin'. Was watching an ad for that zombie show thing I never watch on AMC and this guy holds up a flat slided long barreled autoloader, looked like an AMT Hardballer or something, then ejects empties from a swing out cylinder on the side of the gun you can't see.:what::scrutiny:

Oh, yeay, "Walking Dead". Just more reason not to watch it.

I'm figuring it might have been hard to film in Texas. Have to do it on large ranches. It's kinda built up since then. Might accidentally get a power line in a shot or something. :)
