Texas themed Glock or other makes

It's has been at least 30 years since I took her there and found nothing. There was also no mention of them on display somewhere else that I found.

As to guns engraved with a Texas motif I would doubt there were. I have certainly never heard of even one although it's a subject I have never pursued.

I’m not much into themed guns or commemoratives, but those laser etched frames and slides look pretty cool.

My distant relative and his Daddy were at the Alamo prior to Santa Anna laying siege, but they were allowed to leave San Antonio about two weeks before the Mexican army’s arrival so they escaped certain death there.

They did fight later with Houston’s force at San Jacinto, where the boy was wounded and thought dead.

I have no idea what arms they used. I really wish I did!

Stay safe.

A distant cousin of mine was in the San Jacinto fight. I know nothing of the arms but I would bet a bunch of them were just whatever the individual owned. There was very little money available for the Texas army if what history I have read is correct.

It looks like Shark Coast Tactical does the engraving and has more than one variety of Texas pistol.

Yep- Shark Coast does these. I called them. They are like Henry Ford with Model T colors... You can have any gun Texas engraved, as long as it is a Glock 43, 19 or 48. They will not do other makes. Pity.

Oh- and thanks for the info gc70. BTW- how did you find them?

Kahr (possibly under the AO name) made some 1911 commemoritives for USS Texas (BB-35) that were fairly unremarkable at the time (certainly not for the IIRC US$100-150 over Colt price they wanted). No damasquene, just plain engraving, and in a glossy black oxide finish.

They'd probably fetch a few kwatloos today for just not being on the market. Or not.

A trio, today, of a blued 45acp 1911 for BB35; and a mixed alloy 9x19 LW Commander for CGN-39, and a matt black .38super Commander for SSN-775 would be cool-just spendy. Tossing in a nickeled .32acp 1903 for the 1892 pre-dreadnaught later renamed USS San Marcos would complete the circle.

It may be that the design was made to fit the grips of those models and putting the design on other models would require a lot of work and be prohibitively expensive.

I did a search for 'Glock Texas laser engraving' on Google and looked for matching images. The first two matches did not do engraving, but creating engravings was apparently a large part of Shark Coast Tactical's business.

I think you are right, whatever symbols that might have been on rebellion firearms would be obscure to interpret. It would be interesting if any of these flag designs made it on a Texas independence weapon:

Flags of the Texas Revolution

Based on Polaroids taken during the Battle San Jacinto, the Archeology Department of Amarillo has determined that this is an example of an early rebellion meme.
