I would like to thank all the US Veterans for your service.
My personal way to never forget is by listening to historic broadcasts downloadable for free off the internet. I found a great website with tons of war news bulletins, classic rally speeches, on-scene battle reports, special announcements, period music, and other historic news events. It's at
http://ragz.info/Great%20Speeches.htm
A few favorites:
- "ww2 411207 Special Defence Message" (rally speech from National Commander of American Legion)
- Winston Churchill's "Fight on the Beaches"
- live reports from Normandy on D-Day
Enjoy!
ps- Anyone seen the comedy movie "1941"? LOL. This broadcast details events that sound strikingly similar to some of the film's plots: "Ww2 420225 News of the World". It's about 3/4 of the way down the list of files.
