I was driving back from the Scarborough Faire Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, Texas Saturday when I spied a WPD cruiser stopped along I35 north.
It seems a car chock full of ladies had blown its tire and the middle-aged officer was helping them change it.
Now, I know that changing tires is not a police officer's job, but its nice to know that Waxahachie has at least one officer who will stop and help a gal in need. If this officer had not stopped, I expect someone else would have stopped to render aid (like myself, if WPD had not been all over the situation).
(My wife tells me that, growing up in a small Texas town, she never spent more than a couple minutes on the side of the road with a diabled vehicle before some gentleman would stop & render assistance.)
Oh, why am I thanking WPD? Well, that could have been MY wife out there on the side of the interstate, dontcha know...
