My fiance shot this little whitetail on Thanksgiving day. She'd shot one deer with her dad when she was 13, but not since. This buck was laying down at a quartering away angle looking back at us, and we just couldn't get closer, so we crawled up to a fence and put the gun through the woven wire. She made sure there wasn't any grass in the way. I told her if and only if she was steady to aim for the right side of the white spot under his chin and squeeze the trigger. Her dad's little Ruger .243 cracked, and the buck's head just layed over. He never heard the shot. I was SOOO proud of her. It ended up being 181 yards! He's a little bugger, but yesterday was the last day of season, so I'm glad she got her buck.

I almost forgot to mention. She was my girlfriend the day she shot it. She was my fiance the next day! No, it wasn't the ONLY reason she's a keeper, but it makes a good story!

You couldn't argue with her after she demonstrated her ability to take down a man-sized animal from 181 yards away, huh?
:D
