Thanksgiving gun

I had some time between peeling taters and carving turkey, so I sneaked outside with my El Patron. 45colt 4¾" SAA.
Of course I stayed too long and mrs f had to call me inside....but not before I ventilated some oil filters!

The SAA is easily one of my best shooting revolvers, and one of my least expensive!

Yours truly.....

Thanksgiving shoot-a-round!

Won't be carrying this year. Family and I are stuck in the house recovering from COVID. Just turkey pot pies and cranberry sauce for us this year. My hi power pi will be within easy reach if needed. Happy Thanksgiving and good health to you all.🦃

My dad brother and I went and shot a a lot of powder of today. My dads 357 mag, and his little model 36 38 special. My p320f and 365. And my bros 320 sc. then we broke out the lil Glock 44. Dad had some issues with it feeding randomly. Seems like it may have just been one of the mags. We set up some clay pigeon holders and had great fun breaking them at various distances etc.

Just playing with the kids and smoking a turkey. Peach wood for me since we have an unruly peach tree that needs constant pruning. Turned out to be one of the best I’ve done ever.
No pistol today, though I thought about bringing out the Stevens single shot 22 in case that armadillo came back.

I ended up using oak, I started out with cherry but for some reason it just smoked too much so I ditched the cherry and went to Oak. Got a clean fire after that.
Mine really came out good to. Just my wife and I and we didn't have to be stressed about when the turkey was going to be done. I gave her an hours notice so she could start what she wanted to cook.

It was just so much easier than having a bunch of people standing around looking like they are going to start chewing on the furniture.

I did take the 686 off and switched it out for my Shield PC, because I didn't want to bang the 686 on the smoker and scratch it up.

A Post-Thanksgiving gun.

Friday my new Tisas Zigana model "K" arrived at my FFL. It actually got to town on Thanksgiving but couldn't be delivered until Friday.

The Tisas Zigana (a mountain pass) "K" is the 9mm Luger compact of that series but about the same size as a full-size Sig 226 or P220. It has an aluminum alloy frame, steels slide and hammer forged chrome lined barrel. It's hammer fired, DA/SA with a slide mounted safety/decocker. It does have one of those butt ugly Picatinny rails but was only $299.99 so I'll pretend it's not there. The high polish steel magazines (2) are 15 rounders but without traditional witness holes and have a plastic follower. It comes in a heavy duty plastic travel case that's nie impossible to open right now. Hope the left snap lock eases up over time.

Take down to clean and lube was super simple. Make sure it's unloaded and then swing a lever 90 degrees and slide the slide off. Reassembly as easy, slide on and rotate the lever back up. Typical of Tisas the machining was clean and I couldn't find any machining marks. I'll try to get to the range today to see how it shoots.

First two magazines + 1 and no failures to feed, fire or eject. Recoil is snappier than I expected considering the size and weight of the gun and rear sight need to be adjusted slightly.
