OK, it was a play on the name of the Sweet 16.

My real question is what is the difference between the Sweet 16 and the regular 16 gauge A5? Are the differences real or imagined? Is it worth the price difference between the two? Etc....

Also I am interested in the opinions about the A5 clones. Remington model 11 and the Savage 720 and how they apply to the above questions. I am getting the 16 gauge itch and these autos seem to be prevelant around here even though I am definitely still on the lookout for a decent double as well.

About a pound.

The standard weighs more then the light-weight Sweet Sixteen.

Yes, it is worth the differance if you plan to carry it hunting all day.

The Sweet Sixteen also has the Speed-Load feature lacking on the older Standard model.

IMO it makes the difference between a great hunting gun and a wallhanger, in this case.

Unless you're really committed to 16 Gauge, and willing to spend a fair amount of money on ammo, this isn't a waterfowl gun. It's probably not a good range gun. Extra weight is a big disadvantage IMO.

The Sweet 16 makes a great upland gun, though.

+1 to that.

Mine is 1955 vintage A5 Sweet Sixteen with a 25.5" Barrel, Mod choke.
I loved dove shooting with mine and next week it will go turkey hunting with me. Plus, if ever needed I have 100rds of 00 buck for it.
