The .25 ACP

Every now and then when I read posts like this, I get to worrying about my little .25 Beretta 950, and start doubting my wisdon in keeping it. So I go to the range, shoot 8 holes through a 2X4, and that always reinforces my decision that it's a good thing. Still got it. It's always a backup to something more powerful, but can you guys poke your finger through a yellow pine 2X4 even once, much less 8 times?

Those Bauers are pretty small ,as with everything its shot placement people have been killed with 22Lr. Heck I now a cop that carries a NAA Mini Revolver in 22 LR as a last ditch gun. Having a gun is better than not having one.:)

I carry my .25 Jetfire every day, and have for years.

The Kel-Tec P-32's grip feels like a plastic popsicle stick to me; my fingers go around it three or four times. Plus, the trigger sucks and the sights are weird.

My Beretta I can actually hit stuff with. Repeatedly. With, like, the whole magazine. And then run.

I wouldn't mind having a Colt, just to have, but I wouldn't ever carry it, given any alternative. The caliber is atrocious.

Bauer's have a spotty reputation for reliability, if you get a good one it'll run forever. If you get a bad one you'll never get it to work. The Beretta is much better, though a little bigger. But I like the Colt Vest Pocket the best. Grip safety and thumb safety and mine is accurate enough to do the job.

I have a Colt 1908 .25, built about 1921. I only own it because it's such a pretty little gun, and built like a watch. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-7/1052094/95117822-picture.jpeg
It functions reliably, but the only use I've ever put it to is to make noise to frighten large flocks of birds out of the trees around my house. As others have said, it's not a good choice as a defensive round, but nobody wants to be shot with one. Better than nothing, and easy to carry.

I've got a Beretta 21 and a Browning in .25ACP, almost always have one with me as a BUG, sometimes it's all I have. Both of mine are very reliable, the Beretta has been carried in a pocket holster since 1991 or so, and every time I take it out it puts all it's rounds in the A zone at 5 yards. That's all it's meant to do. The Browning is equally reliable, but I don't carry it so much any more. I shoot 35 gr. XTP's in both of mine.

Ive got a Bauer had since around 79 or 80 serial number under 10K has always worked fine. (yours might need a new mag spring last round failed to feed) I also have a 950 BS Jetfire these are the RR of 25's Mine is a great carry and accurate Just perfect 25. I have KT's but Beretta goes for a walk now and then.
My 12 year old daugther has laid claim to Beretta she does a fine job shooting it .

John Moses Browning invented the 25acp to make a small reliable firearm as the 22 rimfires were not dependable. In a well designed 25 auto it is very reliable IMHO I have tried lots of the small 22rf but they did not work all the time.

The Colts, baby Browning’s, Walther’s work!!

When 1 in the face does not present results, try empty the magazine into it. IMHO that leads to a dead human. When you think it does not work try 2-3 in your head you will change your mind.
