Very good article. I personally never saw +P branded ammo until late 70s, maybe 76 or so. There was a LOT of that Hiwaymaster ammo around in the middle 70s, I think it was loaded to maybe middle 60s and yes folks did shoot it ok in K frames and the .41 frame Colts gobbled it.They were loaded with 150 grain bullets and said 1060 FPS (I'll bet out of a 6" barrel!) on the box. I forgot about that hot Norma ammo until I read your post! The .45 ACP Norma ammo was the first HP for .45 I think, trouble is it had a cupro nickel jacket that would not expand! I think the .38 ammo was hard too .
