I hope you didnt think that I was implying that Peter is incompetent as a gunsmith, he seemed like he knew what he was talking about, the problem was what he had to work with, no matter how much you polish a turd, it will never be more than a shiny P.O.S.
Lightning Rod who claimed to be the owner of the company admitted they were changing some of the angles and in the process of recalibrating thier CNC machinery when I was having all the trouble with my Diamondback, believe me I WANTED this gun to work SO MUCH!
When I say I sold mine at a loss, I mean I dont even think I recouped what I spent on the almost 500 rounds of various and mostly defensive (high $) .380 ammo I ran through it trying to "break it in" let alone the cost of shipping it to them, they flat out refused to pay for shipping the first 2 times, it wasnt until they agreed to replace it that they sent a return shipping label and they would only send that to the dealer I bought it from because they insisted it go FFL to FFL (yeah, that means I had to pay FFL transfer fee coming and going TWICE, total of 4 FFL transfer fees), no big deal except I live 250 miles from that dealer and bought that gun at a gunshow that was a LOT closer to where I live. Its worth knowing that dealer is one I do business with often and have since 1996, he told me of the 4 Diamondbacks he originally got, all 4 went back to the factory twice before being replaced in less than a years time.
I am not in any way speaking ill of the Diamondback you own or your own experience with them, just saying what my experience was, as I pointed out to Lightning Rod, for the $ I spent (and wasted) I could have gone with what I really wanted, the Sig P238, although knowing what I know now, I may have just ended up having an equally bad experience with Sig.
Logic tells me Diamondback must have fixed thier problems or they wouldnt still be in business, its like you with the Kahr wendlb, an experience that bad can ruin you for life on a company and thier product.

I completely agree. Once you've gone through so much hassle on one product, even if you find that it finally works, you just say **** it, lost faith in the product and the name.

So I'm not really slamming any maker. Someone has got their scars from some gun, others have had their lives saved from that gun. I'll trust my life with what's proven themselves to me. DB has done that. They failed you. Kahr failed me. Sig failed someone else.

................amen.

Lastly, as an update, DPX loads with Barnes Copper HP, DoubleTap with Barnes Copper HP, and Buffalo Bore +P HP loads, function flawlessly in both guns.
