I've been playing with a 6.8 SPC AR build the last month or so, getting ready for hunting season. I've been very pleased with the upgrade in down range performance over .223. Today I found this online....

Looks like the 6.8 is really catching on:) Their prices on barrels seem really fair, I might just have to build another upper.

Good to know.

FYI - Silver State Armory is selling their 'SpecII' 110gr Accubond loads for $22/box. That's a good deal on 6.8SPC hunting ammo, if anyone doesn't want to roll their own. I recently bought some, just to try 'em out, and they gave MOA-ish accuracy from my Shaw SpecII barrel during the 100yd sight-in. SSA rates them at 2600fpr+ from a 16" barrel, but I didn't run them over the chrony to validate them out of the 18" tube on my primary hunting carbine.

For anyone looking for an inexpensive barrel solution, Bison Armory (username Carnaby here on THR) is selling Shaw barrels for a good price. I've built up uppers on three of those barrels, and they've all been quite satisfactory.

They're getting $1,325 for a LOWER with buttstock?
