Just got my 6.8 SPC conversion kit from Lewis Machine a couple of weeks ago. Had to wait almost 4 months for it, so I hope it was worth the wait. The barrell and bolt carrier swap out was surprisingly easy with the supplied torque wrench already pre-set. I "married" the upper assembly to a Bushmaster lower with a match trigger. I've only had a chance to range test it once so far, and that was primarily to sight the ACOG that sits atop it, and to see how it handled 6.8 ammo from SSA. It wasn't worth taking pics, as I was pressed for time and shooting indoors at 25 yards max.

Initial impressions: It was definitely fun to shoot. Not much more kick or rise than from a 75 gr. 5.56 load, but you can almost "feel" the added downrange energy the round produces just from firing the rifle. As I got the ACOG (relatively) zeroed, I was fairly confident this would be a nicely serviceable weapon. Probably will never be match in terms of accuracy, but with some experimentation with SSA's different 6.8 offerings I'm feeling I've got a good shooter in the making. I plan on taking it a step further, as I have all the handloading components I'll need on the way to "build the perfect beast".

Should be an interesting experiment. I hope to post both weapon and target pics just as soon as it warms up enough to get outside.

In the meantime, anyone else have any experience with the LMT 6.8 rig?
