Well I finally got around to being able to take my son hunting for the first time. Plus it was his first time being able to use his Marlin mod 60.
We got into the woods at about 10:30 this morning. And after showing him how to properly load and operate and shoot it he did a bit of target practice. I set a small plastic bottle at the base of a dead tree. stepped off 25 yards and let him do his thing. He hit the bottle on his third shot. All he said was it sure is different than my BB gun.
We spent the next 3 hours walking through the woods listening and lloking for tree rats. Only seen 2 and couldn't get shots off at them. So he got some more target practice in. He got too shoot about 100 rounds all total. We both had a good time. I am sure it is something neither of us will forget for a long time to come.
