4 simple steps to removing the smell....

1.) Wring Cats Neck.

2.) Douse Cat liberaly with Hoppes #9

3.) Scrub Bag vigorously with Doused Cat.

4.)Set Bag outside to air out.... Dispose of Cat Scrubber

Repeat as needed until odor is gone.

I (USED) to have a tabby cat that made the mistake of squirting on a USMC rain pancho... This was in 1992.... Several methods of cleaning & 13 years later...... you can still smell it on a warm day.

Good Luck!

Heh. My cat pissed into my Nintendo some years ago. Purely out of spite. I wouldn't let him use the kitchen floor for toilet paper and he took offense...

heehee raunchy cats :D

anyway, go to a pet store or walmart and pick up some pet urine/poop stain remover. it is enzyme based so it will neutralize. household ammonia cleaners will not do that. We have several (yeah, we got dogs), first is the one we like (no after odor) its called Stain and Odor Remover by Simple Solution, its in a white spray bottle. The other, which leaves a scent is fram Hartz in a purple spray bottle. Either one does the job and doesn't damage fabric or upholstery. Yes, it might be a little pricey, but hey, do you really feel like buying a new bag?? :)

BTW, to keep cats out of areas, throw down a few moth balls. Thy don't like those. We had cats and we use to do thise in the fron flower beds. Those little poopers would lay presents in the freshly dug roses :scrutiny:

...then get some Natures Miracle for Cats....

That is the ticket.

Odoban is not bad -- I used to use it -- but it has a eucalyptus smell that is at least as strong as the cat pee. I can't stand it. Besides, it doesn't seem to have any enzyme or bacterial action.

Vinegar won't do it. Bleach won't do it. Soap won't do it.

Nature's Miracle (or the store brand equivalent) is the way to go.

BTW, I am pretty disgusted at all the remarks about torturing animals. Really, guys, it's not funny. It's sick.

Our cat is strange. It doesnt pee on the gun stuff but loves to stick its nose in the muzzle of guns I have on the table. I think it has something to do with the smell of the burnt powder that she likes. Dumb cat :banghead:

Go to Petsmart or Petco, they have lots of pet odor remover there, the hard part is making sure you get the remover where the smell is, because it only takes a drop to cause the smell.

Thats why you use a black light (UV) in a darkened room. Fresh urine freaking glows. Be warned though, even a freashly cleaned carpet will show its entire spill history under a black light. And yes, keep the cat away from the bag until the smell is totally gone.

It did it because it's a CAT

You must not live with cats. There is ALWAYS a reason for a cat breaking its litterbox habits, and that reason is NEVER 'cause its a cat. Bladder infection, phosphate crystals in the urine (imagine you urinating lots of little sharp needles), fear of attack by other cats (aka the game of litterbox ambush).

For dog loving feline haters. I hear that stir fried dog is good eating.

Think "Sporting Clays" Especially the one that runs real fast along the ground.

Carefull there waitone, some cat owners have firearms, and may not take kindly to seeing ANY kitty used as a live target. :fire: Not that *I'd* shoot somebody doing that. Shooting would be too quick...

I have this sense of déja vu... :D

Try Febreze. It's available in any supermarket, and it will kill kitty pee odor. Multiple applications may be necessary.

I've had good success with Natures Miracle. You will have to make sure to get all of the urine out otherwise the cat will reuse the area.

I've been told that Kgogi is a delicacy. :neener:

"For dog loving feline haters. I hear that stir fried dog is good eating."

Dog soup ain't bad neither,,,reminded me a lot of Campbells Chicken noodle to tell you the truth. (I found out what I was eating after the fact just FYI)

:neener:

I'm not sure if I ever tried cat, I may have. There was another time when I asked "YUM,what is this?" Response, "You don't want to know." I took their word for it. Mighta been cat...

As far as the cruelty to animals, I'm sure we're all joking here. I know I am anyhow...

ps, It WAS an expensive delicacy and it would have been an insult to my hosts to refuse it. (The dog) How's that for being between a rock and a hard place?

found your problem..

get yourself a real animal....
My 32 pound Russian blue would destroy that silly little dog ;)

Even my malamute is afraid of him.

Lol

I distinctly remember the late Cooter D. Cat calmly hooking his claws oh so gently into the equally as late 110 lb Natasha Dobie's nose skin and pulling on it with just the right amount of force to let "Tasha" know she was overstepping her bounds. The dog got the message.

:D

A Follow Up

We already have some Simple Solution for those days one of our ladies decides to cack up a hairball on the carpet. It works well too. But it sounds from the responses like Natures Miracle is the way to go. I'll have to snag a bottle tonight.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. The cat did not BLAST the bag. Just squirted it a little. I think some natures miracle (as recommended) plus a good machine washing and maybe some fresh air will probably do the job.

As for motives, there are three of them so we'd need to determine a culprit first.
