Not sure where to post this. But I got this chronograph at a yard sale for 15.00 dollars. It appears to be all there from pictures I've seen. There is no instructions with it. Does anyone have one that can walk me through it. I heard chrony is out of business now,so maybe I can't get the instructions. Any help will be appreciated. It turns, this I know. I see in some u tube videos that their models have 3 buttons, mine only has 2. Oh well I'll keep working on it.

Love my Chrony. Light. Folds down compact. Simple to set up and use. Does what I need it to do. When someone mentioned on THR a while back that Chrony went under I picked a spare up at Sportsmans the next day.

Don’t force the plastic screen pieces together. Go easy on them as they will develop stress cracks and then break.

I have the cheap one that you have to add the button yourself to access the features. In any case this may be worth watching.

The way I have avoided hitting any of mine over the years, is to set everything up and take a few steps back to ensure what comes out of the gun, comes out above the chronograph.

This rig is what I use often, tripod, ATV gun mounts and my pool net if I need a brass catcher.

Cloudy days always remind me to chronograph because there is no need to fool with the sky screens, per video above.

My “keep it down out there” barrel also makes it easy to avoid setting the chronograph in the bullets path.

I believe I must have one of the earliest ones ( purchased in the early 80's from Midsouth ) as mine is also green but came with the cardboard screens. I still have it and when the light is good it works great. I too was sorry to see them go. I believe Chrony gave reloaders the first affoardable device to measure velocity.

I don't know how anyone can even call them instructions. ...
HAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, I didn't check the posted link but by your reaction that HAS to be the correct "instructions". :D

20+ years ago I bought a CHRONY Master Beta (take care to not run those two words together ;))

A decade ago a visit to the CHRONY website convinced me that things appeared to be winding down there ... so ... I took advantage of their posted offer to, for a total cost of less than $30US, to upgrade my CHRONY from a memory of 10 10rd Strings to 100 10rd Strings. DEAL!

By the ON-screen display that converted my Master Beta :uhoh: into a Master Gamma (WHEW, better name).

I think that my CHRONY works GREAT but it is relatively labor intensive, having to manually transcribe the Strings data to my Excel pages.

That said, 15bucks for a working CHRONY Beta is an outstanding deal, IMO. Have fun!

Use longer sticks and a piece of plain poster board for the shade.
if that one uses aluminum rods to hold the screens, replace them with wooden dowels. the wood is much more forgiving of a bullet strike.

Wisdom x2.

Before I got my current Pro Chrono, I used this Pro Tach for almost 30 years (still works). Look at the needle you had to thread to work with this unit. Over the years I missed the slots here and there but managed to avoid putting one in the boiler room :D

Can you point me to a thread with your barrel design? I seem to recall you've posted about it before but my searches have come up empty. I might need to make one, now that the property next to my shooting spot has been sold and the new owner is managing it as a vacation rental property.

Think about how brilliant that card is, a window above the top of the chrono to shoot through. Allows a chronograph to not be shot after 30 years of use.

Maybe the chronograph killers need a pack of 3x5 note cards to set on top of their chrono they have to then shoot over.

Or maybe two different colors of tape around the rods if that’s what it takes to remember the bullet comes out below the aiming device.
