This is the bushing wrench that my smith made me as an accessory for my damascus slide build that he is working on. It is a 5" 1911 built on a Caspian SS classic receiver and a few tricks.

Is this not the coolest bushing wrench that you have ever seen... I mean, come on... Do I have the best smith or what?

That's gorgeous. How much does your smith want for another one? I bet he could make a killing sellling those things here and on the 1911 forums.

I would think that's damascus steel, which is pretty hard, on another steel. Just seems like a good way to scratch up your pistol and part with your money for a shiny toy to me. I like my brass one.

it depends

I would think that's damascus steel, which is pretty hard, on another steel.

If you don't harden it Damascus can be pretty soft. also, since the slide is hardened damascus, and the wrench is non-hardened damascus, it wont scratch.

i saw you post that on the 1911forum site in the caspian section, ive been waiting to see what it will look like. Ive been waiting for my kimber for 6 weeks now and looking at 1911's is about all that keeps me sane. I cant imagine how much thats gonna cost because i saw a pair of damascus 1911 grips go for 350

$350...

Holy cows...

Caspian "only" charges $225 for their damascus grips. I'm not paying for this, it's a gift from my smith.

So pretty I wouldn't want to scratch it.
Plastic wrenches for me too.
