I had (and am still having) a good time on the AR15 Recce build threads and thought it would be fun to share one for the 1911.

So to begin:

1911 Government
Carbon Steel throughout
Battle-rattle mostly mil-spec
Fixed Sights
No special tools; "built-in toolbox"
.45 Super capable

More specifically:

Caspian Carbon Basic Gov .45 Receiver
Clark/Para ramped barrel cut
Ed brown .250 radius beaver-tail cut
Integral plunger tube
Small parts install
Hand fit to slide

Caspian Carbon Gov .45 Slide
Classic vertical cocking serrations
Standard radius
Serrated flat top
Bevel package
Novak Lo-Mount rear sight cut
Glock front sight cut

10-8 Performance U-Notch rear .125" serrated sight
Heinie .125" serrated front sight

Caspian Commander hammer + Cylinder & Slide fire control parts
Kart c/p ramped barrel + barrel bushing
Colt or Springfield short trigger
Ed Brown beaver-tail grip safety, high ride
Various other parts .. arched MSH, mil guide rod, etc.

Update

Caspian has the receiver and is to send me a confirmation on the parts and services requested.

I'm debating on whether or not to go with the glock front sight cut or just go with the dovetail sight. I like the utility of adjusting elevation fairly quickly, though it wouldn't be as rugged of a setup as the dovetail.

Decided to go with the Kart EZ fit barrel system. Guess this thread would be kind of boring without getting to watch me screw it up royally! :p

Forgot to mention ToolTech will be installing the tritium in the sights.

Hopefully will update soon with some action!
:D

Any thoughts on my sight predicament? Should I worry about the Glock sight if I am dosing it with blue loctite?
