Almost fifty handguns at an average cost of $750...Don't want to know. I can ratonalize a lot of it by saying that I have done a lot of "buy one, sell one" and haven't lost "too much" on most of them, as I generally buy used and find decent deals. I only have about ten per cent of that total today, so five times $750...yeah, I can do that math.

Holsters? Probably one per gun...but sometimes four or five for one gun. Again, I've had a number of 1911s, so buying five 1911 holsters isn't the same as buying five holster per 1911. Same for S&W revolvers. See? I'm pretty good at rationalizing (guess I've had some practice)

Permit: I think it was $140 to the state and about $95 to the instructor, the first time. Each renewal was less on both counts.

Ammo, training, range time? I don't want to think about it.

The last few years it's been handloading equipment and supplies. Again, you don't want to know, and neither do I.

But shooting is also recreational, so I consider it an enjoyment expense. The older I get, the fewer of those I have.

Thousand's & Thousand's This year bought six hand gun's , conceal carry class for me and wife plus conceal carry permits for both of us and a stash of extra ammo. Not finished yet one more gun when i make up my mind what to get , now have from 380 to 45cal all autos. I have two holster for each gun

The most frustrating part (for me) has been the piece by piece ala carte journey and limited ability to try on gun/holster/belt rigs all in one place. I've heard from too many people reporting that they have a drawer/box full of holsters that did not quite work as planned. If only I had a spare million, I could create a very succesful business and make the process much easier.

It cost me over $5,000 in legal fees partly because I was legally carrying.

Some LE agencies don't like civilians carrying and some municipalities like to use your right to carry against you. If you want to keep that right and keep your record clean that can be used against you to extort legal fees and such. Slightly off topic but not really.

P.S. Paying the $5,000 extortion fee allowed the charges to be dropped in my case. Wish I wasn't carrying that day!

In CT it cost me a little over $300 in course cost and misc. fees to get a Pistol Permit, then $60 every 5 years. I'm not figuring gun costs in because I bought those just because I wanted them.
