The Dark Earth XD with a stainless slide...seen it?

Kind of funny to see this posted. I just saw one at a local range Saturday. The guy behind the counter was surprised by it as well. I wouldn't say you had "horrible" taste, just different taste. I kinda like it myself.
 
That thing is ugly as sin. It looks as if an XD got painted with an ugly brush and then barfed on.

But then again, you know what they say. "Different strokes for different folks."
 
Hahaha, yeah guitargod1985, guess that's why manufacturers make so many different models. Variety is the spice of life.
 
Reminds me of various burger joints. They run out of ideas, and then say, "Hey lets put everything together on the same bun!". So you end up with the bacon-cheddar-ranch-foccata bread-vine ripe tomato-jalapeno-buffalo burger.:eek::barf:
 
hmmm well i actually kinna like it
i think the solid black xd is the only pistol on earth more ugly than a glock
that tan and stainless or olive and stainless breaks up the ugliness a bit
 
I guess I better get it in a hurry if I'm gonna get it. Based on the rave reviews it is getting in this thread, Springfield may not offer it again next year. Ha ha ha
 
I've seen it, not gonna rush out and buy one. Can't say that I find it very aesthetically pleasing but I wouldn't judge anyone else on getting one. I do love black XD's and black frame with stainless slides.

Materdei, yeah, gotta love those marketing tactics. I priced one today at the store where I do all my business, $592.78. Not a bad price around here, but still more than I was wanting to pay. Guess I'll just have to get a black on black for now.
 
A buddy of mine just offered me $500 on my 45 Tac, which is awesome considering he could get it new for $580. I guess now it's just the matter of coming up with $100. Should be easy enough. I'm like a crackhead, running around looking for stuff to sell.
 
Its like a train wreck... I am horrified by its appearance but yet... can't seem to stop looking at it!

Its kinda cool and a little over the top at the same time... Like a 4x4 with chrome...
 
I honestly don't know how I feel about that look.. I was immediately repulsed, but then when I stared at it for a minute it really started to grow on me. I'm.. so.. confused..
 
There was a thread a while a back about a guy who had the dark earth and the bi-tone XD 45 4" ers, but I cant seem to find it. Since the slides were interchangeable, in effect he had a:
black on black
Bi tone (stainless on black)
Dark earth (black on OD green)
and what you see here (stainless on OD green)
XD's.

I know its not quite OD green but w/e. sue me.

When I saw it then, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Now they're marketing it!

I think its great :D
 
Like others, I didn't care for it when the page first loaded. Now I've got to have one. I'm suprised the distributers have them already. Thought I would have to wait a while to get it, but it is in stock and could be delivered tomorrow.
 
I want to get one with the DE frame and the slide in OD. I think it would go well with my multicam.
 
i kinda like it too. But i think i would go for the one w/ the black slide. But hey it's your gun. Pics.
 
i wouldnt say that its ugly but just different. The more I look at it the more its starting to grow on me.
 
If the slide were blue then it would be a nice traditional khaki and blue oxford combination.
