Happy Birthday

Fun days when you can walk in a gun store and pick out what you want.

That reminds me of a story when I was just under 15. Rode my bike to the Woolworth store down the street. I always went to the sporting goods section to see what they had.
There on the end cap was a rack of Krags covered in cosmoline. $35 each. Got home as fast as I could to talk to my Dad. I had the money from cutting grass.
Mom stepped in . She had been a nurse in the ER and didn't want me to have a gun.
I will never forget those rifles.

Happy birthday, Olon!

So what Glock do you have? Did I miss where you posted that? I'm sure that either of your choices will serve you well. Down the road, though, don't forget to pick up a .22 or three. Over the years, I've had more fun shooting .22s for less money than anything else in my safe.

It's a Glock 23; a very generous high school graduation gift from my aunt and uncle. See, maybe it's something I'll grow out of but .22s don't quite turn my crank. I've never shot a .22 pistol though. My girlfriend is getting a little more confident with guns as I've been taking her out, though. A .22 rifle will be her college graduation gift from me and I'm sure a .22 or 9mm pistol is sure to follow. Just depends on what she wants.

In my humble opinion, the G23 is the best of the Glocks; power of the .40 S&W in a medium frame. And if you want to expand its versatility, pick up a 9mm conversion barrel (mine is a KKM) and a few 9mm magazines. Excellent pistol.

That G23 will serve you well. As for .22s, to each his own.

Happy Birthday, and also, thank you, as we need all the young people we can get, that are involved in shooting and reloading.

Happy birthday. Shortly after turning 21 my 1st handgun was a Ruger Single Six.

Very hard to go wrong with either a 38 or 357. The 357s add some weight and as long as you do a really good cleaning job to prevent build up rings in the cylinders they shoot 38s just fine. Lately though my primary carry gun has been one of my snubbies from Smith & Wesson or Charter Arms.
