The end of an era

Vista Outdoors has rebates at this time too. Alliant Powder, CCI primers, and Speer bullets. Just got 15K CCI small pistol primers yesterday.

Good point. I just today turned in my rebate sheet for CCI primers.

It seems like the most difficult thing to find during a shortage is primers. One can make do with one of several different powders, but without a primer its all for naught.
That 8 pounds of Bullseye needs about 20 thousand primers to make target wadcutters.

And, primers are easier to store.

The only powder in my house are the open bottles, the others are in several other locations.

Now that prices are down and product is available i think I might fill in the holes in my supplies. It won't take much, a few pounds of powder and maybe 10k primers.

A word to some of the new reloaders - I purchased that BE (and primers) during a time when it was difficult to find supplies. It was difficult because of the political situation. Todays situation is much, much worse.

Supplies are plentiful right now.

Are you certain you have enough ?

I was JUST thinking this myself only an hour ago as I was loading up some ammo for the weekend. Now is definitely the time, and I think from now on, I'm only buying in 8lb cans.

Well, the gun show is in town tomorrow, and today is payday. There is a vendor at the local shows now that has great prices on hazmat stuff, and great inventory. I need to check my inventory tonight. :)

Wish I could say the same thing about the shows in this area. Very little in the way of reloading stuff here and for the $7.00 admission fee I might as well just pay the hazmat.

I am still learning the fine art of stockpiling loading components and saving foir retirement. I'm too retirement based right now.

I was at the big Wanenmacher show in Tulsa last month. Several vendors had very good inventory. It was nice to see.
I did pick up some supplies there, but no luck finding an 8 pound of 4227.

Quite the change from just a few years ago, when folks were digging decades old powder remnants from under piles in old closets, and fetching premium prices. I witnessed a bidding war over a 20 year old can of 4895.

Blue Collar Reloading? Good people. Call them ahead of time and they will bring it to the show. ;)
Gotta work in the morning, but I'll be there.
