First gun I ever fired...
My father bought me and my brother Marlin Model 60 semi-auto .22s. I was in junior high, and I still have that rifle (I am going to pass it down to my kids, when I ever have them). My father took us out with my grandfather, and taught us everything from gun safety, to proper breathing, sight alignment, and how to hold the rifle.
Considering the fact that my father is a veteran of the Vietnam War (US Army) and my paternal grandfather was a sniper/machine gunner in the Finnish Army of World Way II (he was one of the famed "White Knights" that skied into battle against the Russians), I think I learned from the best.
Now, granted, looking at how people hold rifles today, the techniques they taught me may seem a little outdated, but gosh darn it, I hit everything I aim at.
