Anyone own these?

How accurate are they?

Where do you get extra mags?

Was it worth the $?

What makes them crap. I'm very curious, for the 150 bucks I see these things go for it doesnt seem like a whole lot to live up to.

EDIT:Oh....that...

Poor fit/finish

The couple I've seen at gun shows look nothing like the wonderful examples on their website. They had tool marks and honestly looked cobbled together. Fit, finish, and cycling felt awful.

they're crap.

you'd be better off waiting until the AIA newly manufactured enfields in .308 that use m-14 magazines arrive in country.

I know you have a thing for the AIAs, and they are nice, but lets be real. The Gibbs are good, decent guns that use surplus parts at a surplus price. The AIA is a new gun that costs 600 bucks, and uses 50 dollar mags. No thank you.

I like the AIAs to look at, but I will buy a Gibbs. Seen and handled several , and they are a bit unpolished, but definitely serviceable. Great knockabout gun.

For the cost of entry for a AIA, I can get a Cetme, or a cheap FAL. No thanks.

That's a contradiction, Liliysdad.

For one, that's assuming they'll stay together during the first magazine's worth of ammunition. Because, when the nosecap and forend goes flying downrange with the bullet, it has definitely been relegated to "knockabout gun" status. One step shy of a replica gun faithfully recreated by skilled Pakistani craftsmen in the time-honored traditions of their villages. :scrutiny:

Hey, that should be Gibbs' next advertising campaign!

I think I'll pass.:uhoh:

No serious functioning problems with mine. (Not including the crappy scope mount that came with it.) Ejection is not consistant in distance but it spits them out. Fun beater gun.

FYI, You're not going to be buying any new Enfields from Gibbs as they are totally & completely out of parts. Look on their website, each & every model is listed as unavailable.

You want a good short .308 rifle Get a Saiga with a 16" barrel, 3 lug AK action made in Russia brand new with a guarrantee.

The mags only hold 8 rounds, and they cost $25 from EAA.

Excellent rifle for the price, If it could take 20 rounderss it would be an incredible rifle at ANY price. But you can get them for under $300 with three magazines included in the price.

If you can find a Golden State Arms Knock-off cheap, they are great guns for the money. I have one, and it shoots nice, and isn't there any more real Number 5's at SOG?
