I'm all for the free market and capitalism but the gun flipping is annoying.
The S&W 929 is a limited production, fairly scarce revolver. I would search for these all over - including auction sites like Gun Broker and there wasn't anything, they just weren't out there. They became available twice on a couple of sites - one of them was Kentucky Gun Co. and both times I just wasn't quite fast enough to snag them. But then I noticed they suddenly were available on auction sites with a $400 premium tacked on. Then one night, later on in the evening two became available from Cheaper Than Dirt and I ordered it right away. By the time I finished my order around 10 p.m. the second one was already sold. The next day I saw one on Gun Broker, for $1,400.00
Right now these aren't available in stores at all, but there are 10 of them for sale on Guns America and Gun Broker.
Last week the Ruger LCR in 9mm started shipping. They would sell out almost immediately and then pop up on Gun Broker for $100 more than GrabAGun and KYGunCo was selling them for.
The same thing happened with a Charter Arms 9mm PITBULL I've been chasing.
The same thing happened this week with the Beretta PICO.
I know some gun dealers have a presence on the auction sites but this doesn't seem dealers getting a firearm from a distributor and selling it on the auction sites, it seems like people purchasing from online stores like KYGunCo, and GrabAGun and then auctioning it for a few hundred more.
Ugh... it is annoying
Well I'm glad I beat those bastards out and was able to get my S&W 929 and the Charter Arms PITBULL straight from a gun store
