I have not actually seen the "Judge" by Taurus, but from the commercials it appears to be able to fire .410 & 45LC. How is this done? Am I also to assume that one "could" fire a .410 from a 45LC revolver- and vice versa? Before I get flamed for implying I would do this...no plans - yet.;)

The rim and thickness of rim of 410 and 45 LC are the same. The overall length of the 410 is longer than 45 L. Taurus does this by making the cylinder longer. Shooting 410 in moist 45 LC is not feasible because the 410 is too long to chamber.

I have no real use for that Taurus. I know that the LONG free bore of the .410/.45 Colt barrel for my Contender (actually useful to nearly 25 yards with the shotgun due to screw on choke) makes the .45 Colt pretty loose for accuracy. It's about a 7moa barrel in .45 Colt. That ain't totally less than useful for an iron sighted gun to 50 or 75 yards, just a lot less accuracy than other Contender barrels with normal chambers. To me, the concept of that Taurus is a might goofy. I'd rather just have the plain .45 Colt. Besides, the standard cylinder length is a lot more compact. If I want shot loads for something, I can handload .45 Colt brass with shot using gas checks for wads and it'd be about as useful. The .410 don't pattern past maybe 10 feet, pretty worthless.

I have the 4410 and any mixed use gun like this is going to involve compromise. Decided to get one because I wanted something to use in the Hill Country where I go as aften as possible and wanted a Rattlesnake gun as well as one that would put down a Coyote. I used to use and old .38 special with shot shells but think this is better.
