Ok, the "THR Special" linotype deal is on the website. We're keeping it kind of secretive as it is not intended for the general public at the price we're offering THR folks. Hit our site, go to the "Specials" category (left hand side of the main page) and you'll find it. There is no photo, no description posted there. Pretty secretive, right?

We are able to package 35 net lbs. of this lino into the thick special inner cartons we purchased today, which fit nicely and securely with packing into the USPS flat-rate box. So, as promised, the special THR price per lb. is $1.40. Multiply $1.40 by 35 lbs. per flat-rate carton and you're at $49.00. Apply the regular THR discount code and 5% gets whacked off that. Add $10.85 shipping (the shopping cart does that at checkout, and allows you to purchase insurance for another $2.00) and you're good to go.

There is no limit on the number of 35-lb. cartons you can buy. Well, none imposed from this end. Your banker and/or your wife might impose a limit or two, I suppose.

Anyhow, that's the deal.

And if you don't know the discount code, please don't call or email asking for it. We're busy. The whole idea of creating a special discount for THR members was to encourage participation in this wonderful set of forums and any active participant ought to be able to figure out how to search for a thread involving a "THR Discount Offer", right?

We will begin shipping tomorrow. Delivery to most locations would occur two days after that (Friday.) We have 70 cartons-worth available (we're keeping the rest for our DLATW R&D.)

Brad

Discout Wasn't ATaken

I followed Brad's instructions to the letter, and the 5% wasn't deducted from my order. I copied the code from thread using the "copy" function so I wouldn't make a typo and double checked it before ordering, and took it all the way through, thinking it would pop up but it didn't. I would have ordered anyway, but it's a little disappointing.

It works, Major Dad. Here, look:

Shopping Cart
Name Price Qty. Discount Subtotal Tax Total Remove
Select All
THR-Special (THR-Special) $49.00 *$2.45 $46.55 $0.00 $46.55

Subtotal: $2.45 $46.55 $0.00 $46.55

If you are paying by check or money order, enter the word "check" below or if you have a promotional code, enter it now:

Applying promo code HighRoad5
*5% discount to High Road Forum members

Savings of $2.45

I don't know what you did wrong because I wasn't there to watch you type in the code, but it works just fine. We get a half-dozen THR discount code sales every day, all routine.

If the discount wasn't applied when you confirmed the promo code entry, I guess that I would have bailed out of the ordering process to determine what the problem was instead of accepting it, knowing that the code you entered didn't take.

I entered the THR code (HighRoad5) copied & pasted to the appropriate field (twice) and nothing happened. Like I said, I would have ordered anyway, but it's kind of aggravating to use the THR discount to no avail. I could have bailed in the process, but since Brad said it would be applied I kept on through to the final field, and no discount. I do not in any way impune Brad or Missouri Bullets - the track record won' allow it - but I do say it didn't work for me in this case. For $2.50 I don't get bent out of shape - I accept the intent if not the results. And that's no B.S.

MajDad, as noted in the email I sent you last night, I went into the credit card gateway and manually credited your account back the 5% discount, so you did receive that.

When folks copy and paste the discount code into the promo code box at checkout and it doesn't work, invariably it's because a leading or trailing space got picked up in the copy operation.

So now you're whole and your carton will ship today.

Thanks Brad

It wasn't necessary, but the gesture is appreciated and noted. It surely won't be the last time a wayward keystroke waylays me... :D I'll pay closer attention to detail herein out as I am getting low on some 200 gr LSWCs for my 45...
Regards,
George
