I am beginning to think I will never achieve that point where my collection (used loosely here - I am including "working" guns not collector pieces but don't prefer the alternative word arsenal) is completed.

I started with a semiauto 22 rifle (plinking, hunting, Appleseed trainer) and then picked up a pump 20 ga (Hunting, HD). I decided I wanted a trainer handgun and picked up a 22 DA/SA revolver. Then I picked up a Bolt 22LR for hunting in PA where semi auto is not allowed (and since moved from that area - but I also upgraded the stock and as we bought this after our wedding it is viewed as sort of a heirloom gun too). Most recently a G19 as a CCW now that I live in a friendly state.

I thought at that point I was only ONE firearm away - a center fire rifle now that I live in a rifle friendly state for deer.

However I have since decided that I Just can't live without;

- Aforementioned bolt action 7mm-08 Browning X-Bolt Hunter for deer and target shooting

- a semi-auto 22 handgun like the Ruger SR22 or the M&P 22 or a conversion kit for my G19.

- as of last night (spent a lot of time on YouTube), an SKS. I love the looks of it (wear marks notwithstanding - referring to the rifle design here) and think with a tech sight addition it would make a great center fire complement to my Marlin 60. That would give me a set of bolt action scoped rifles 22 and center fire and a set of semi-auto iron sighted rifles 22 and center fire.

What's your list look like? anyone else going to need to buy a bigger safe?

I already need to buy the third safe. :)

Actually, I'm pretty well settled down. The big problem I run into is the "want" pieces...and the One Big Item I really am after.

My "want" items would be a S&W 1076, and probably a 5.56 suppressor.

The One Big Item? A cased pair of origianl flintlock duelling pistols. Around $25K these days.

I need a long gun. Im thinking in 6.5 Grendel for some reason that Im not sure of.

And a pistol with a scope by golly.

All my needs were covered a long time ago. Concealed carry pistol, shotgun, rimfire rifle, carbine, centerfire rifle, ammo and accessories for same. Everything after that is a want and wants are fluid.

My needs are way past covered lol. I have more guns than I have time to shoot them or money to feed them. But that doesnt mean I dont want more.

Next on my "realistic" list is probably a Ruger SRH in .44mag that I'll scope for an eventual deer hunt (and because, well, I dont have a hand cannon). Or possibly a .410 shotgun.

Like Mike my safe is full, and I should buy another probably before any more guns.... but what fun is that....

Want: good bolt action, colt ar, and some good glass to sit on top.

Plus ammo to shoot and not feel guilty for the $ burned up. :)

My problem is one of finances. My wife and I do well but we have a strict budget to keep it all in order which means I allot myself a certain amount a month for buying stuff. It will take me quite a while to add a 22 pistol, deer rifle and SKS!

I really want to sell my Taurus revolver and use the funds to buy a 22 pistol but I just can't imagine that I will get anywhere near what I paid for the Taurus and I enjoy shooting 12 gauge hulls at 7 yards with it. For about 100 less than a new 22 pistol I can get a conversion kit for the glock...

Umm, lets see... An RPK, PPQ 9mm, Snub 38..... Ah heck this list never ends :) But I'm very VERY grateful for the Toys I do have because I've been blessed to amount such a collection in a small period of time.

An STI 2011 for USPSA Limited Division.

A small single stack 9mm for concealed carry.

A pair of single action .45 Colt's, a lever action .45 Colt, and a double barreled 12ga to try out CAS.

A semi-auto AK.

Something in .357 SIG (likely a Springfield XD).

Other stuff as it catches my fancy. I doubt I'll ever be to a point where I have everything I want. That would be no fun :).

Several gallons of chlorine bleach.

Or whatever the heck else would be effective to keep ebola out of my house!

Hahahaha!

I need another safe but I've been mainly concentrating on NFA stuff lately. If I come across good deals I always scoop them up though. My next big item is a 20mm rifle. Everyone usually starts laughing when I say that, but to heck with them, I want one!!! I already have it picked out!

I would like to have a Luger. I should have bought one years ago when they were more reasonably priced.

I have a STI Tactical 5.0 and I absolutely love it! I have had my eye on a Steel Master for a while now. STI is incredible. I have one or two ;) 1911's laying around and the STI is by far my favorite.

Agreed. Everything is now in the "want" category.

I thought I wanted a 9mm Beretta CX4 Storm, but after reading CoMoRo's post I want something to keep Ebola away also.

I don't need another danged thing!

I don't need another danged thing!,,,
It's those danged "wants" that will break me.

I just on my lunch break today,,,
Ordered a SAA Clone in .22 LR from Taylors & Co.

I have absolutely no need for this new gun,,,
But it's an exact match for a .357 Dakota I already own.

I do have a thing for matching guns in rimfire/centerfire pairs,,,
A pair of SAA clones were the last pair I needed.

So now maybe I'll be satisfied for a while,,,
I doubt it but one can always hope.

Like many others, "needs" were taken care of awhile back...

My "wants" list seems to get more and more obscure, and solid reasoning for the items gets shakier and shakier. My last 2 purchases were kind of an "eh - why not?" kind of a deal. Current "wants" list would include:

  • .45-70 lever gun
  • mousegun of some sort. Probably .380, although I like the Beretta 21a.
  • .308 bolt gun ('Everybody oughta have...')
  • 10-22 (Another 'everybody oughta have'...')

I'm also thinking about picking up this Bulgarian military Makarov. I have no interest in the 9Mak caliber, but I could use the gun for spare parts as needed on a commercial Bulgarian Makarov in .380 I bought recently. These are the kinds of purchases I think about lately. I have no more grail guns to get (right now).

[EDIT: "Want" list is in the absolute very loosest sense of the word. Will probably get the mousegun eventually one day, but the rest will very likely never happen and that's perfectly OK.]

There's nothing I "need". I have several .357 Mag revolvers, a high capacity 9mm, two 1911's, a great AR, two .22 lr autos, one.22 lr revolver, LCP for EDC.

Want is different, 1911 in .38 Super Auto and a 12 ga shotgun

Needs are covered. My want list is extensive.

Want: an AK, finish my AR pistol, build a large caliber AR (thinking .458 SOCOM), 1911, .32 pocket pistol, VZ-61 Skorpion in .32 to complement and share ammo with the pocket gun, SRB, SBS, Beretta M-9 with threaded barrel and supressor, lefty friendly or true ambi bullpup rifle. Probably many more wants than this, too.

Needs are covered. My want list is extensive.

That about says it for me, too. My wants are mainly to replace a few that I sold several years back in a fit of stupidity, plus to complete a set. In no particular order:

1-S&W Model 66, no dash. This was the second gun I ever bought, traded a Model 19 for it. Had the 66 for 30 years, shot PPC Service Revolver with it.

2- A 1911 .45 Auto of some sort. Leaning towards the Springfield Range Officer

3-Walther P-38 9mm. Id love a post-war '40's model. Always liked that gun, I qualified for the German military marksmanship badge with it and found it to fit me well.

4- 6.5 Grendel. I'll build this one, another upper to go with my AR M4 300 BLK

5, 6, 7- A Stevens 311 in 16 ga, 20 ga and .410 bore to go with the 12 ga I now have

8- A Mosin Nagant M44 carbine to go with my 91/30.
