That was probably me reading into things, I think I started off comparing weight of ammo of M1 Garand era to current military offerings and drifted.

Carry on your promotion of the M1 Garand, it has earned it!

Much of this thread makes me want to head out and ring steel at 300 with my M1.

If I ever have to engage the enemy at 500yds, I wouldn't choose an M1 or an AR15 but an AR10 seems a better investment of $1000 and 10lbs. Spend $750 on a CMP Garand and shoot the hell out of it if it makes you happy. No need to try and convince yourself and others it's something it clearly isn't.

Well, this thread was one of the fastest to 10 pages I've seen in a while, so like our former President Trump subscribes to, "even bad press is good press."

Agreed, a reputable AR10 would run circles around an M1 Garand in every way.

That was Six(6) rounds in the clip... not a fill Eight.

They are like that... but it's a niche load.

Notice he, and most, have no problem w/ a full clip, as God and JCG intended.
