The Nano Project

The trigger has a 6 pound pull. I think this pistol is gonna destroy the compitition.

So it interacts with the striker deactivation button after its been pushed to deactivate it before take down or storage? Do you what purpose does it serve? Does it only pop up and down if the gun isn't cocked and ready to fire?

What piece of the puzzle are we missing here?

My PX4 has this too. It reaches it's apex right before the trigger breaks. That's the only thing I can guess its there for and what I use it for.

In the diagram of the PX4, I believe it's the firing pin block.

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=0/sid=879/schematicsdetail/PX4

Here we go:

-Visible Automatic Firing Pin Block: The front part of the firing pin is blocked from any forward movement until the trigger is pulled completely back. The block is located rearward, far away from the fouling and debris of the breech face. Since the block is visible, the user may ascertain its proper operation at any time. Even if the pistol falls and strikes the ground muzzle down, the firing pin will not strike the primer.

Found out manufacturers put those type of safeties on striker fire firearms to prevent a UIMF if it is dropped

^^^ Ever heard of it causing any problems ???? or locking up or causing a miss fire?? Someone said they use it on their Px4's and they seem to get good ink.

Beretta just put out a part II Nano video where they de-lube it in mineral spirits, air-blow it dry, and run 1,000 rounds down range dry ... supposedly with out any lubrication or stopping to clean it. The mineral spirits *might leave* a slight oily residue but 1,000 continuous rounds with out adding any lube or cleaning it throughout??!!?? :scrutiny:

Shooting 1,000 continuously fired rounds with a firearm that size hurts my mind just thinking about it :p

My local big-boy toy store quoited me $350. + tax, tag, and title = $380. OTD

I'm looking forward to fondling one myself, and also to some range reports. Most of all how does it sizes up to a LCP, CM9, and a PF9 side-by-side up close and personal

It is a couple tenths of an inch smaller in height and length than the PF-9 but weighs 5 ounces more, is just slightly thicker and holds one less round in the magazine.

For the almost non-existent differences in size I think I will keep the PF-9 and it's extra round.

You do that.

Someone asked how it stacked up size wise with some of the other pocket 9s including the PF-9...I told the person who asked. Sorry if that offended you.

actually I'm not sorry...if it offended then it did.

Now folks lets not get our Brussels in a bunch :p

I read the specs but I want to see, hold, and line them all up next to each-other for a real time comparative look see.

I was about to get a CM9 or a PF9 but at this point I can wait a couple a weeks till my LGS calls me to tell me that their here.

As far as what does that video prove ... well I'm guessing that the guys in the Beretta Adverting Department said ... let's make some teaser video's < they have about 3 or 4 out at this point to sear up our interest > of our new about to be released Beretta Nano mini-9 handgun ... and let's supposedly make one video of it supposedly shootin over 1,000+ boolits and lets do it with it supposedly being un-lubricated or cleaned throughout doing so. And supposedly show that it didn't have not even one miss Q throughout those 1,000+ shot boolits. How long do you think it would take to shoot that many continuous rounds out of that Nano, between loading mags, letting it cool down so it doesn't over heat, not to mention the pounding your hands are going to take unless you put it in a vice part of the time or you have several shooters. And all of this I'm guessing is meant to entice someone in the market for a reliable mini-9 handgun for self preservation on the street that you have to get one of these.

Now if I happened to offend anyone with any of this fore mentioned stuff ... then ... go tell yo mama and she can quell your hurt feelings with some of her home made hot soup :neener:

$350, 6lb trigger pull, user replaceable FRONT & rear sights, stores need to get them STAT

at that price i'll break my never purchase a first production run gun and be a guinea pig.
