There have been many threads here, and on other boards about the out of box problems with the Kimber Solo. They disappeared from the LGS shelves at the beginning of the discussion. The last few gun magazines I have received, as well as the most recent issue of America's 1st Freedom, have ads for "the all new Kimber Solo."

Does anyone know what has been happening to the Solo? It was such an appealing platform for me, but it was seemingly withdrawn from distribution before I could see one in person.

I keep reading about the Solo in many national magazines, with reviews of what a wonderful pistol it is. Meanwhile, I have yet to meet a single person who has actually seen one, touched one, shot one, anything. Does this pistol actually exist?

Go figure, the latest addition of "American Rifleman" April 2012, page 57, lists the Kimber Solo as their choice of "Handgun of the Year". I'm still trying to figure that out with all the bad reports I've read on the different forums I visit. I have shot one, as one of the members of my local club finially got one. It worked great at first, but after a few trips to the range, it started acting up, like it forgot how to feed & eject properly. LM

Yes it exists, I have held it quite a bit :)

We've gotten ONE in (it's in the display case to generate business for future sales, and is NOT for sale), and we are a high volume dealer for Kimber. It's got a great hand feel, and is IMO a perfect size... not tiny like the DB9 or Rorhbaugh, not a brick in your pocket like a Glock.

I haven't shot one, and I'm hoping that Kimber can work through whatever quality control problems they may or may not be having, as this one should be a big hit if the quality is there.

The few people that are getting them seem happy, do a search and you'll find more info. A couple of the early ones had issues, looks like they've got that fixed. Problem now is trying to find one.....several of the CDP's on Gun Broker have gone for over $1500.

I've had one for several months and it has been flawless. Great feel and way more accurate than it needs to be.
The notion that they were all recalled and melted down is hogwash. You don't see them on the shelves because dealers are still filling their order sheets. I lucked into mine at a gun show as I was number sixty five on my dealers list then. Now I'm down in the twenties and when they call me I'll buy a second one.

I've touched one.
