Best friend ISIS has if the feller that pulled all of our troops out of Iraq. All those humvees and weapons left by the bug out Iraqi army will equip lots of rebels.

Then there is Afghanistan. We gonna do it again?

More On Morin & The NRA

I'm guessing it's more than just guns. It's his grudge about how the NRA perceives guns.

Am I the only one that thinks this sounds like a personal problem for our artist friend? I guess if they pay you to attack someone not on the PC protected list the NRA is as good of a target as any. I wonder what categories this guy fits into that we might use the PC rules to bash him about. Male? There's one. White? Possibly? Heck that's enough reason to get other lefties to turn on him. I guess he figures he is paying protection money to the racketeers on the left in the media. If he attacks other legit PC targets he gets a pass on his own entitlement status. Plus I read he was a big Hanna-Barbera fan in his youth. Didn't they promote lots and lots of violence for kids? Huckleberry Hound had that el Kabong character that whacked people over the head with a guitar time after time. Just awful. Yep he was a Hanna-Barbera Youth member and as such is responsible for teaching kids that violence isn't really harmful. Not only that but they taught kids that stealing picnic baskets wasn't so bad either. Yogi got away with that a lot. What a terrible influence they were on impressionable young minds. I bet our cartoonist friend was warped by those shows and that's why he's so warped now.

And above all this this cartoonist character isn't even gay. Yep. He's a big fat target for the PC crowd. That's what happens when you feed the dragon. Eventually it turns on you.

I know exactly what message he is trying to send.
If and when it ever comes down too IT. The only way they could cover up Home land security busting into your place and arresting you or at least confiscating all your fire arms.
Is if they have successfully painted us as a danger to the public. This is how those narratives get started.

That is what the Statists want.

I think maybe he meant the "newspaper" was empty. That thing he writes for isn't called a magazine. But yes it is empty I'd wager.

We in Lexington,Ky have our own whack job drawing for the Lexington Herald-Leader. His name is Joel Pett and he truly hates any type of personal liberty.

A couple of weeks ago, some anti writer claimed that ISIS was advancing because it was getting guns smuggled in from the U.S., "AK-47's bought at American gun shows". With AK's littering the streets in the Middle East, that would be like smuggling vodka into Russia.

BTW, notice that the cartoon uses the term "ISIL", which is the abbreviation used by Obama and the White House (and almost no one else), so we know who the cartoonist is working for.

From what I can tell the LHL seems to hate everything and everybody. Everybody that works there seems to have the dream of being a MSM knee jerk liberal and they really try to impress by going over the top at the drop of a hat.

The LHL also has a writer named Merlene Davis. Her colums are always good for a dose of hate, racism, and just plain stupidity.

It's 1933 and gun owners are the new Jews.

Keep in mind they don't hate guns, they hate US. They imply we are associated with criminal activity and go to great lengths to make sure all conversations make gun owners look bad. Watch the news with this in mind and you will see it.

This has been pitched in volume the last 5+ years. We need a better, louder to say exactly as you say. Stop blaming the innocent!

RED WIND - "And this man [Morin] once won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning"

That's not at all unusual for extreme leftist "cartoonists." The many years cartoonist for The Los Angeles Times, Conrad, won several Pultizer Prizes over the years he drew editorial cartoons for The L. A. Times. He was rabidly anti-Second Amendment, anti-private firearms ownership, anti-NRA, and anti-self defense. Of course, the L.A. Times also consistently crusaded for banning all firearms and having the police confiscate them from law abiding owners.

I haven't lived in L. A. for several years but a couple friends of mine there say the L.A. Times is still 100% true to form, continuing their extreme left anti-Second Amendment crusade.

Almost all the media, tee vee, Hollywood, newspapers and magazines are owned and managed by the extreme left neo-lib "progressives."

I doubt they'll ever change. Their mission is to destroy the Constitution and establish their idealistic Great Brave New Marxist Socialist Fascist Police State Utopia.

They never, ever, disengage, either.

Prime example - Law And Order episode about a guy who buys a gun and converts it to full auto and sprays a crowd of women (it has to be women - they could care less about men) in a park. In the trial they essentially say they want to control not only the laws of their own state but every other state too. They "demonstrate" the difference of how many rounds the guy could fire with a semi-auto vs. a full auto in 30 seconds. They pour out about 20 rounds to show how many could be fired with a semi-auto and then they pour out about 400 rounds to show how many rounds the guy "fired" in 30 seconds with a full auto. It seems to me that the guy must have had one heck of a magazine to fire that many rounds. Must have been a belt fed semi-auto pistol he bought and altered. BTW they were attempting to prosecute the gun maker for failing to make the gun tamper proof. And with every bullet that fell on the table a jury member would jump and recoil and cry out in agony. Guilty was the verdict but the paid off judge looking for money from the evil NRA overturned their verdict. The will of the people once again was crushed by the special interests of the evil gun makers. Dastardly demons that they are. But they basically decided that they were going to rule the world without benefit of the constitution, the will of the people (who they claimed were on their side but we all know different) or anything else. They want to be dictators.

The first prosecutor from that show actually made a movie called "Mind Walk" which was essentially a conversation between a uber liberal and a run of the mill liberal. The uber liberal convinced the guy that the world should be ruled by a dictator. You just can't get the people to follow along with the new science fast enough. Just look at the greenhouse effect. Just a fears ago it was just a theory. Blah Blah. Blah. I paraphrased what they said but it's accurate. And this isn't paraphrased. It's a direct quote.

"...wouldn’t it take some kind of totalitarian regime to put ideas as comprehensive as yours into effect?"

The implied answer was absolutely we need a dictatorship. These people stay up nights planning and hoping for one. If we don't watch out it will happen before we know what happened. And it won't be easy to get rid of the people who seize power. Some political actors have already taken power in other countries. And they mean to do it here. I'm talking a well known Jewish man who made his fortune selling out his own people to the Nazis. Great guy. I want him as our dictator, don't you? They do.

Well, I'm in Mississippi. My wife is a Mississippian. My two kids are Mississippians. We have endured 50 years of ridicule and assault. In those early days, in resistance to integration, the state earned a deserved black eye. Even so, for half a century we've dealt with the results. ER made an entire episode (filmed in the Carolinas because the narrative they were trying to create could not be done so in Mississippi) that stated the only health care we could get in the southern part of the state was being administered by a nurse nun. Yeah, right. "A Time to Kill" implied that nobody in Mississippi has air conditioning. The nightly news ALWAYS gets the biggest podunk redneck to comment on any news story, and while a tornado might ravage a 15 mile area, the only thing they show is the trailer park that gets wiped out. Even Discovery Channel's Modern Marvels on the Minivan had the comment "Even somebody in backwoods Mississippi knows what a Dodge Caravan is."

Even on this site, the statement that we have terrible schools has been made. Yeah, inner city schools in Jackson or virtually abandoned ones in the Delta aren't good, but I teach in a minority-majority school where the year before last more than half of my kids scored Advanced on the Algebra I exam (and that guy isn't easy and no, we didn't cheat). I'd put $1,000 on the table right now and walk away richer that the first thought guys here think when they hear Mississippi is negative.

That's the result of generations of national ridicule towards one place. We get along just fine, thank you, and our skin is plenty thick. The danger in gunowners receiving the same treatment is that we are spread about the entire nation and cannot sit ignored except when crap is heaped upon us from afar. It might not matter that we are articulate and capable of making intelligent defenses of our 2nd Amendment rights if we cannot make inroads into the emotional realm best characterized by this cartoon (and the one most effectively stoked).

The tide is going our way, though, as Walmart STILL sells AR's. It isn't the good old days of Sears, Montgomery Wards, and JC Penny selling firearms, but it is better than other times when public perception was solidly against us.

You think it's bad there try growing up in eastern Kentucky. Every program on tv eventually gets around to bashing hillbillies. There's been some backlash about it in recent years (finally) with people getting organized and protesting the negative stereotypes the media pushes concerning our state. And the truth is the media started the stereotype in the first place. They had a mass influx of immigrants in NYC which meant more money for the newspapers (more people to buy their stuff). So in order to keep people from moving out of the slums to the glorious greatness across the mountains they created the myth of the hillbilly. They wanted to scare immigrants into staying put. Yeah they live so much better than we do. You couldn't pay me to live there but I do know people that like it. I do not get that but it's their choice. I could talk about the pathetic young people they ship out of NYC to a remote camp/prison type location called a school in our area. But schools don't have fences to keep people in. These kids were raised in closets and the like and they don't know anything and I mean anything they are worse than the stone age tribes because at least those people have some social interaction. My wife worked at that place for a while but it was too dangerous. Women teachers were often attacked by hormone driven teenage cavemen. You won't see that on ER or any of the other tv shows that portray where I live as backward and uncivilized.

Sorry for the non-gun related rant. I won't feel bad if the mods delete my post. I just had to get it off my chest for a second. But people should stand up to the media and their portrayal of us as backward and ignorant. They certainly connect the gun culture to that same mindset. I'd love to send every tv show producer a copy of the Jesse Stuart book, "Hie To The Hunters". They might get an idea of just how we feel about our culture and theirs. Absolutely great book for anyone interested in how things are still for many people in my part of the world.

I think most are able to tell past from present. But the press keeps those stereotypes going, in an opened minded way.......Some people in metro Seattle are way more close minded than can be imagined. Real hate in those folks.

I live in Madeira beach Florida we are blessed with the Tampa Bay Times which is nothing but a left wing rag, I get it to read the sports and wrap fish guts . It is shrinking and losing money and it is all George Bushes fault ! You can't fix stupid , and all they have to sell is yesterday's news anyway!
