Yummm

I have a great homemade cocktail sauce.

I'm afraid Tuner and Old Fuff will put it in the squirt guns, get a jam and sue me for "defective" plastic Llama squirt guns...

We get Tort Reform...I'll share...:)

This is the damndest thread I've ever seen:p

It sorta reminds me of the time I saw "Beach Blanket Babylon" in San Francisco, and got to see Elvis & Madonna sing a duet.

In the decrepit hopes of posting something GUN related - and I don't mean the Guns of Navarone:what:, I will ask:

Did anybody ever make short fully machined 1911 triggers?

Did anybody ever make short fully machined 1911 triggers?
Yeppers. They surely did.

Colt made them into the 1930s.
Some of the Argentine Sistemas had them.

Some of the Norwegian Kongsberg-Colts had a medium length trigger that was slightly shorter than the long 1911 trigger. All of the Norwegian triggers (long & medium) were fully machined.

Lathered Up

Forget the water pistols! Get Dawn and her sister Pam in T-shirts and throw barbecue sauce all over'em! (Don't even ask why.) Better check Pam's ID first. Don't tell Fuff about this...He's gettin' on in years, and it
could be fatal if he uses vegetable oil on his utensil. Come to think of it....So am I! Invite 2 or 3 paramedics to the fish fry! Somebody shoot Andrew Wyatt before he can find a real machined trigger! Shoot anybody who sends him one or sells him a Dremel!

Stand by for further orders!

Tuner

The poor Fuff has totally lost it now. He is blubbering while try to mix a slurry of barbeque sauce and bore paste to polish his triggers ….

Needs to know … how much vegetable oil should he add??????

But ... But (sob!) I can't decide ... Should I use a ...

Standard Government Model plug??????

or

A Commander plug ??????

or

An Officer's ACP plug ???????

There are so many different plugs ... (wiff) I just don't know ....

Old Fuff

He's all done. Put the straight jacket on him and take him away. Grab his Rands. I got dibbs on hammers, triggers and thumb safeties. Ya'll can fight over the magazines and spring plugs. I'll shoot any man who touches the Singer or the Union Switch! The Privateers get first choice on the Ithacas. Colts are up for grabs if anybody can get past Bluesbear.

Good thing we stopped him before he slung a pot fulla slurry all over the girls. No tellin' WHAT he mighta done if he hadda got'em all slicked up!
We done our duty.

Barbecue chefs! Front and center! Proceed...

The rest of ya...As you were. I'll be in the area all day.

Gunny Tuner

...he he he...hold my RC...

....I gotta life size poster of Dawn holding a plate of fried pies. Now this here poster is in a wagon, PollyRockets' lease is attached...So while Tuner is chasing and pantin' after that wagon and contents...I can "swoop in"... Rands, Unions, Singers, Colts,parts...and finally that dad-gummed trigger that started all this!
:D

Don't worry Old Fuff, shift changes are a good time to sneak in to you some fried pies, BBQ, and fried catfish fillets...;)

You do want purple onion with your catfish - right?

Trigger?

Trigger?:scrutiny:

Fuff's got a trigger?:scrutiny:

Well...Whydahell didn't he just say so?

FUFF ol' pal! heh heh...I'll jump through hoops and cook ya some bobby-cue and hook ya up with a couple of hotties in wet T-shirts and make ya
a gen-yew-wine Southern Pecan pie, if'n ya send me that trigger ...buddy...
Fuff? Old pal? Speak to me!!! See what ya'll went and done? Now I
ain't EVER gonna get that dang trigger!:banghead:

OK ok, I'll see one of each food group listed, one Dawn, one sistah, a pot, a black kettle, a PollyRocket, and raise ya'll a dozen Bull Frogs. That'd be 24 legs mind ya!

Tuner, ol’ buddy …. I’m sorry …

I can’t send you that genuine solid-steel Colt 1911 trigger right now because I’ve been committed for observation. Somebody called the cops when I started slinging that slurry around. Of course the first thing they did was come out to the house and confiscate anything and everything that might be associated with guns. I objected, but they said it was, “for the children,†although I don’t know why one of the little tykes would need an US&S or Singer …

My “Mental Counselor†said they had to sedate me because I kept mumbling something about, “Dawn coming with the “fried in barbeque sauce, apple pie …â€

The good news is that he said he might loosen the straps on this here jacket if I could fix the feeding problem he has with his .45 …

Dawn coming with the fried in barbeque sauce, apple pie ??
Sedation will help Fuff ... and keep you from any further risk of rash decisions.

If you happen to find a nurse attending you named Dawn ... just make sure she wears a wet T-Shirt ... I believe that is very therapeutic - except for elevated blood pressure readings .... not always good with guys in our age group!:p

Now - if you can bribe with offers of fixing 1911's then that's good ... cos you'll be out quicker .. as long as you take the meds prescribed.

Tuner will wait - he has patience ... like the cat waiting at the mousehole ... ''as long as it takes'' ...... Haha!:D

If Tuner comes down here he'll end up in the same padded room ...

What good does it do too have a nurse named Dawn when they have you in a jacket with straps on it? Dang thing is worse then a shoulder holster ...

Hang on Snoopy!!

I mean Old Fuff...here comes the Calvary!!

We have Tuner and his dogs, Chris on a Motorcyle, Brian and his daughter, Smoke and I burning up the highway in a pick up and cutting across fields, Blues Bear is blowing doors off from his direction...

Later...

Amid the dust and devastion, The Institution is a shambles. The "Mental Counselor" is now wearing a straight jacket, and in Observation himself at another facilty, his "therapy" is to watch Eddie Eagle tapes.

Old Fuff is back home, good whiff of Hoppe's No. 9 and is wide-eyed and bushytailed. All better now , Old Fuff is back to working on steel guns with real parts.

Chris is gonna do a write up on his method of using a BFR in 45-70 to "open doors" shooting weak handed and riding his motorcycle up steps.

Brian and Gus are headed back with cast iron skillets...the Institution's kitchen has no use for them anymore. We still ain't figured out what Gus wanted with the all the stuff she stuffed in a rented U-haul - you'd think she was setting up house, or something. Raided the linen supply, all the canned goods, furniture and curtains from the Admins office. Whew! that desk was heavy!

Blues made off like a bandit with the musical stuff he found in the basement...saxaphones, horns...

Smoke and I are taking the long way home. Taking short cuts across open spaces, chasing critters"out of the way" at night....I never knew the long cord on a Q beam could be used as a lasso...Smoke taught me that trick...[ Smoke - hey is that fella with the annoying flashing blue lights still trying to keep up....can't tell with all the dust back there...hold on!]

Tuner finally got home with the trigger, getting all fitted up and gonna give a report.

Old Fuff is better than new. Found a old Model 10 with some rust and pitting, internals pristine...he is happy and the world is right again.

When he takes a break, he has Tuner's famous coffee, fried pies and all sorts of eats to munch on...

:)

dang that fella with the blue lights is persistent...hold on Smoke, gonna jump another ditch...

Steve .. excellent appraisal all told.:)
Chris is gonna do a write up on his method of using a BFR in 45-70 to "open doors" shooting weak handed and riding his motorcycle up steps.
Actually the .454 Casull opens doors well too! But ''up steps'' .... nah ... I only ride down steps ... it's easier! But less crash resistant ... that's the downside!:D

I believe the last part about the coffee and stuff ... But I generally prefer my model 10's to have pristine finishes, unless of course the price is too good to pass up ...

And on a truly good day it will be a Model 1905 Hand Ejector (Military & Police) 4th change - as new, in the box.

Will I did say that I've been committed ...:neener:

See I told ya...

...Old Fuff back to his old cranky self. :D
Gee Old Fuff, you gonna tell me you'd pass on aModel 10 - rusted , pitted finish with good internals for $125...
I don't think so...I may be dumb - I ain't stupid - sure not crazy...
:p

Brian:

Your judgment is impeccable, but if the revolver has the old “long action†it will be a model 1905 Hand Ejector (Military & Police), not a model 10. By the time those came along the long action guns were long gone.

I point this out because if you are looking, and specify a model 10 rather then a Military & Police (or M&P) you may not find what you’re seeking.

The best ones (for a shooter) were made after World War Two between 1945 through 1947, because they had all of the features that made the long action’s so good along with the hammer-block safety that is still used today. Look for guns that have the long action, and a letter “S†as a serial number prefix.

They can sometimes be found for attractive prices because they’re only “an old .38,†and no one else knows what to look for except you and I.
:p

OOPS!!!!!! I think I took too much it won't all fit in my little apartment. Now let me see all I really care about is a good skillet.

Did I get one?

Well we gotta wait 25 more days now to see if I got it. Oh darn. No fried pies or fried mac and cheese.

Hmmm since I got enough stuff now do y'all want to come and have a big cook out with all the above listed goodies? MMMMMM I'm sure JOn'd love this. He knows I can cook, but if y'all bring it then we don't have to waste our dawn on it you can do that. ;)

Besides Jon isn't into Dawn's just me. :neener:  :D

Sorry not enough of me to go around.

:neener: :neener: :neener:

Oh great, I 'm going to try and post after Gus's post. If I trip and fall...can I blame my shoelaces were untied? :D

Yes you rec'd a cast iron skillet [ Didn't she daddy? :p ]

You told us that you were going to "ask" daddy about storing all the extra stuff until you and Jon got a bigger place. Something about having daddy wrapped around your little finger with a certain head turn, wink and a smile.

I ever make it back up North, darn right I'll to run by and meet you folks. Since "us kids" have to stick together - may I suggest you just have us all meet at your Dad's. Hey , get their kitchen dirty and use their groceries. I have a way with folk's Mom's...they even let me take out the garbage. :)

Nope, You have great folks, sounds like you found a great guy. Beauty is the person with a smart mind, good heart, morals and ethics. We think you are kinda special around here Gus, I mean it.

I got a gut feeling you have a Mom, that though she prefers to "entertain" folks, meaning " ya'll go sit and visit and I'll cook" - she would have no problem with folks doing various jobs in her kitchen, visiting, and having a good time getting food ready.

More to this responsible firearm ownership than guns...

I figure we can all get entertained watching Tuner and Old Fuff clean the kitchen afterwards...:D
