I had this one CD that I learned was making 1/4 of a percent interest.

So I thought: "Heck ! Guns appreciate faster than that !"

That's when a 150-watt bulb turned on inside my brain.
So when I left the bank with the cash I was not at all surprised when I came across this...

pre-safety Win. 94 30/30...

Asking price $300 - absolutely firm.
Purchase price 30 minutes later $225 out-the-door.

Then - due to my having always led a clean and virtuous Life and keeping company with only the most Pure and Stalwart members of the Community - the Rifle Deity led my steps to this....

And thus filled with Happiness and Brotherly Love I turned my footsteps down the road to my home...

When suddenly the Wise and Earnest Counsel of multiple THR members returned to my mind !

"How did you ever get down to just ONE .243?" the chiding voices kept saying.

Louder and louder they blared until I knew what I had to do - and this is what I did...

The "200th Year" #1 is used but the Nikon Buckmaster 6.5x18x40 is new.

And THAT'S what I think of the :cuss: bank's quarter-percent Generosity !:neener:

Dave Ramsey himself could not have made a wiser investment, good job! Does your wife appreciate your financial acumen?

yay!!! Shawnee no longer has to mope about his lost .243, instead he will rejoice at having 2!!! :neener: being more serious, nice guns Shawnee. (i may just use this method of obtaining "investments":D)

Will say this about these three rifles...

The Winchester 94 - it's one of those rare guns that has a splendid and totally unique feel and handling character. The best word I can think of to describe it is "svelte". It's the firearms industry's version of "comfort food".

The Remington Seven - Have wanted one since they first came out a quarter-century ago. Of all the bolt rifles ever made, the Seven comes the closest to the sweet-handling properties of the Winchester 94. It's really incredible.

The Ruger #1 - This is a familiar, favorite friend that is as comfortable and "natural" as steak 'n eggs. Probably 80% of my centerfire hunting has been with Ruger #1 rifles and I'm postitively delighted to have one back in the family.
