Has anyone been able to purchase a new Spyderco knife called the Calypso Jr.?

If so, where did you purchase it?

I have been trying to locate one. I even had a confirmed order, however, the demand for the knife was so great during that 24 hour period that I lost out. Even the Spyderco Factory Outlet Store is out; the guy told me that 600 units were gone in a blink.

I have a sharpening business. Part of my success is the quality edge I put on a knife. I have to know the attributes of the steel in question.

You don't sharpen Pakistani steel like S30V!!

The new Calypso Jr. is made from a new steel called ZDP 189. It's claim to fame is that it can be heat-treated to 68 Rc without the problem of being glass hard and chipping by concoidal fracture.

I'd like my own to sharpen before clents start to bring me their knives. My quess is that with a knife made from steel that hard I might only see a specimen once per year.

(If you do have one, how it performing? When S30V came out, my knife, as well as others, had tiny little flat spots on the edge that appeared like a string of pearls. After one or two sharpenings, the flat spots disappeared. I'd like your in-put.)
