The Taurus 45/410 Revolvers

I handled one of these yesterday at a gunshop and was wondering what kind of performance I could expect from this revolver. I have never considered purchasing any Taurus product before but I was impressed with the looks and features of this pistol. Anybody on The "High Road" own one or shoot this pistol?

I shot one about a month ago a buddy of mine had just bought. An absolute hoot to shoot and we had a blast with it. the .410 shoots a helluva fireball. Functioned flawlessly too. I'd like to have one myself.

They call it "The Judge" I believe. I saw this video for it on the Taurus site. Pretty good stuff. Needless to say I want one. Ah, the Judge. Kicks a bit with .45LC, since it's an aluminum frame.

.410 is, quite literally, a blast. We couldn't hit a thing with it, so we rolled a silhouette out to 10 feet. When I fired it, it tore a big chunk out of the target about 3" low and left a spatter of tiny holes in a 3" radius.

Good gun for folks in snake country. It's nice that Taurus is taking a chance on making some oddball guns.

I got the 4* version a couple months ago, fun to shoot, 45 colt was real accurate, better than I thought it would be.

If you reload .45 just use 1/2 of a nonsloted .410 shotcup and .45 gascheck on top. If you want more shot, fire form a .303 british to fit your .45. Ace

The slotted cups will spread better but I wand 25-30 feet. .303 make good brass .410 shells for your 9410 Winchester too.

i have a 6.5 inch blued one. not bad. i finally managed to kill a quail with it- i've got a witness!
mine is steel frame, not aluminum. it has the ribber grip, which i am not so fond of, but it does reduce recoil. almost no recoil with cowboy 45 colt ammo. the 410's kick a bit. i have found the gun to be fairly accurate and the sights are good- hiviz types. a little shake in the cylinder. bluing job is okay but not SW- you can see waves on the barrel. paid about 360 new for it, but i had to wait a while for them to find one. i wouldnt want the short barrel one i dont believe. but to each his own! the "judge" is printed on the side of the barrel- also not my taste.

no real point to firing slugs in the judge. The .45lc are wider and heavier.
